An additional tag line to Sky Sport's news bar on this is that we

...have until the end of the week to agree sanctions with UEFA or decision will be made by panel.

If we don't sort something out, anyone know how long the panel are expected to sit before coming to a decision?

I'm would expect the BEin sports deal with Uefa to be hammered.

Most of the media, our rivals, they don't want to know about the actual rules, all they want to know is if they will stop City.

Wonder how the Premier League's own rules re FFPR will come into play, if they disallow what UEFA have?

I'm not sure where I read it, but iirc it was stated that if the parent organisations FFP failed, it's members equivalents would be shutdown by association.

OK, let's use an analogy we can all relate to.

So MCFC is your religion. You go every week and meet with your friends. You have a great time and you donate by buying your match ticket a bit of scran and an replica jersey. The government decides to increase tax on football clubs, which means the club has to offset the cost of the tax on you, the match day fan. This pushes the cost of a season ticket out of your pay scale and you can no longer afford to attend games.

How would you feel?

So what's your point? Football clubs shouldn't be taxed? Because to me, that's a pretty accurate analogy. So why do Man City pay tax and the Catholic church don't. Based on the records (with a few exceptions), there's no better definition of a non-profit organisation than a football club.

Corporations have to pay tax because they operate in a free market.
So lets say Government Minister X is in charge and he doesn't like MCFC (religion A). He increases taxes on MCFC so his team MUFC(Satanism) has a competitive advantage and MCFC go out of business.

My point was putting a tax on churches would have a negative impact on the people who actually need/use it.

This came up in the "Should Religion be taxed thread but read the last paragraph, remember where Gill is and think about it.

Still thin UEFA know what they are doing here and that we will get it thrown out of court and they can then go to the rags etc and say we tried blah blah blah.

Im just not even remotely worried by this.
