I'm told that if MCFC were to remove a player from the CL list because of this they would in all likelihood be sued by whichever player(s) lost income.

In essence UEFA are forcing clubs to restrict the earning potential of players as well as directly impacting the value of image rights too.

Can City accept/implement such a restriction?

Is this not essentially the central point of the Dupont legal action?

maybe a court case is the only way to settle this. Both sides will have top drawer legal teams no doubt, the crucial difference being City have nothing to hide whereas the platini/gill side represent a cartel masquerading under ffp. Should make for some interesting cross-examinations as eufa have to justify firstly, their fitness to be in the job, the flouting of EU rules on cartels, anti-competitive behaviour etc. The g14 with platini as a puppet have picked this fight, lying down is not an option, imho, lancing this boil would be a victory for football

Very strange that Gill is still advising the rags, recently about a manager and yet he is in the UEFA hiearchy who are sanctioning one of his clubs direct rivals. Hypocracy of the highest order.

I've heard that if we fight this then we will definitely be kicked out of European football for good, and ordered to give our best players to our rivals for free, which in turn will mean our owner jacking it all in. Us fans won't escape punishment either - Platini, Rummenigge, and Gill will take it in turn to butt-fuck all adult seasoncard holders with 18" strap-ons. Finally, we will be demoted to League Two. On a brighter note, that means we can go to York away again and re-enact our glorious 2-1 defeat that we suffered at Bootham Crescent on December 19th 1998.

Hypocrisy doesn't even begin to describe it, it's a conflict of interest that could very easily be challenged in a court of law I would have thought.

You want to go on a flap over speculation, as it was confirmed it was in the city press conference today then go ahead. Even though the proposed sanctions are criminal, this still isn't going to stop us if true, it's more a principal thing.
