City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Obviously the whole thing is a farce, but how the fuck have we been given the same/similar punnishment as PSG? Stinks to high heaven, unleash the lawyers! With the £50m fine, there is really no point in not going to court, as that is a truly ridiculous amount of money

Now I've seen everything. even Custis thinks its wrong :-

@ncustisTheSun: I would suggest that what's unfair is what The Glazers have done to United rather than what Sheikh Mansour has done for City. FFP is a joke
He's still a ****, although I did find the time to compliment him on his new found sense.

Is there a chance our guys will pull out of the club as they think they have been stitched up by Platini and Uefa??
No, can't see it happening, we'll get this sorted and move on to the next part of our project.

Not being funny pal but you said we will be fine.
Care to reconsider your thoughts because I for one think this a huge kick in the bollocks.

Not like you to flap pmsl

Well given that Hakassan in Las Vegas is inside the MGM Grand, I think we can assume that's a bit of a tall story.

It's being moved.

“The Hakkasan venture is bankrolled and backed by a mega-wealthy Middle East billionaire. He was a regular high roller at another luxurious Las Vegas nightspot but became disgruntled when he was turned down for a specific table that he wanted one night. He said he was disrespected; he said he’d open his own place to teach them a lesson.

“So he backed the project and told Angel Management that it didn’t matter how much it took to make the Hakkasan project in Las Vegas the best in the world. He said it was an unlimited budget. He wanted to ensure that his previous nightclub hangout knew they’d done the wrong thing by him.

“He’s going to ensure whatever it costs that they learn a lesson. He will have the best club in the world, and nobody will ever match it. He wants the world’s top, best DJs, and he’s got them in contracts to ensure nobody else can have them.

All because they wouldn’t give him the table he wanted. Incredible! Only in Vegas! We are the Nightlife Capital of the World, and now he’ll have the biggest and best of the lot.”

If the story is even vaguely similar then the 'high roller' comes across as a bit of a dick, no matter what he's done for great football clubs.

I would hope there's more to it - but then money does give a certain sense of over-entitlement. I know that's how I feel when I've just been paid and visit Nando's.

The assessment of Paris has now provided a future benchmark for certain deals.

In term of excitement, when all this is done, the club will be able to cut their cloth around whatever the new realities are.

What UEFA have done is reveal their true selves to City and the people back in Abu Dhabi.

There goes a story of a particular person from Abu Dhabi, who owns a great football club.

He also owns Hakassan (please eat here if you get the chance). One night in Las Vegas this person was highly offended in front of his friends at a hotel.

He thought about it a little more.

Then he decided to buy the building next door and start building his own casino, pay for the best staff, put his Hakassan in place, pay Calvin Harris £10m to DJ and the next step will be to drive these people back into the desert.

Abu Dhabi does not take kindly to being offended.

Well given that Hakassan in Las Vegas is inside the MGM Grand, I think we can assume that's a bit of a tall story.

<a class="postlink" href="http://www.katenews2day.com/hakkasan-las-vegas-revenge-story-how-a-middle-eastern-billionaire-disrespected-by-a-vegas-nightclub-bankrolled-the-200-million-club-to-teach-to-teach-them-a-lesson/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.katenews2day.com/hakkasan-la ... -a-lesson/</a>

OK, so he didn't "buy the building next door", rather "did a deal with MGM to open a restartant/nightclub".

Lost in translation perhaps. Still an interesting tale though.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

What a crying shame, that with two games of the league to go, and the high likelihood of us lifting our second premier league trophy in 3 seasons, we're caught up talking about some FFPR legal rubbish, all because clubs used to winning things didn't want anyone spoiling the party.

(That's not a slight against us fans of course, just this pathetic situation)

Probably just me being thick again, but to save me wading through pages and pages of this thread would one of you please put up the link to the City / UEFA source announcing that we have failed ffp and the sanctions we are facing as a result.
I've googled it, but can't actually find any official verifiable source.
Is this whole thread a giant clarkie? Am I being super-wummed?
Without any proof this thread is rapidly going the same way as a 'god' one in the cellar.
Nothin official it has been said by Tolmie a few pages back the story is coming from the French written press and has been picked up by the Press Association and put forward as gospel

Pellegreenie has apparently denied any knowledge of sanctions etc

Re: City & FFP (continued)

This is the perfect opportunity for the club to buy all the fantasy players we've been craving - Messi, Falcao, etc., then after we've signed them, we refuse to play in next season's CL. Would love to see how UEFA's sponsors, and the TV companies, react to that!

care to suggest how you think the likes of Messi, Falcao etc might react to that?

Well, they'd say "Oh dear that's a shame" and we'd be left with £400m of talent playing against Brighton in the 3rd round of the Carling Cup. Result????!!!?!
