City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Of course we all know that UEFA will make up the rules to suit, as they go along.

But does anyone know where exactly it says that you can lose wtf you like if you are not already participating in the CL (i.e. Liverpool)?

All the media are saying Liverpool lost £90m last 2 seasons but that's OK as it doesn't count. For the life of me, I can't see the "except Liverpool" clause in the rules. Unless they are just *literally* making it up as they go along?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

50 m? wtf..
So if they just want money, why they didn't say that from the get go? greedy hypocrites..
I'd say fight tooth and nail and fuck ffp

Am I right in thinking that our latest financial figures that was released, the one with the so called highest wage bill in sport, included the wages of Mancini, Tevez, Barry, Kolo and Lescott?

If so even if we were to go out and sign Mangala, Fernando and Sagna and another, our wage bill will still have decreased. There is no way Uefa could put a certain salary cap on us, unless it was to say we could not go over our current wage bill and they would even struggle to do that. Therefore I cannot see FFP hindering our summer transfers.

They can cap the wages bill of the CL registered players, which obviously excludes all of the above except Lescott.

Please stop with the childish puns FFS... this is a serious matter.

...and puns are going to make it worse, or are folk just making light of things, and laughing at adversity as city fans have always done?
You need to lighten up, as your comments are quite illuminating.

I'm not interested in reading childish comments... I have limited time and want to read opinions on a serious matter... Not some wannabe comedians trying to out do each other... Thankyou!

Are you available for children's parties?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

this isn't just about us. it would be very bad indeed for football clubs in general, in my opinion, if MCFC accept a fine in the tens of millions.

an organization as bent as UEFA that gives itself license to reach into the pocket of a man like our Sheikh Mansour can not be legitimized by our allowing it... or else UEFA will never stop looking for their next shakedown (or is that Sheikhdown?) victim. just as governments grow addicted to taxation revenues and will never seek to lower them, UEFA will view this FFP fine system as a new revenue stream and this will become an annual occurrence levied upon teams outside of the traditional "inner circle".

25k for racist chanting vs. potentially 50M for breaking rules that changed midway through our complying with them?

an owner who invested maybe over a Billion of his own money to elevate a perennial also-ran and economically revitalize that area as well as the competition within that league vs. owners who steal from their club via debt financing as well as the massive interest charges that come with it?

City must not only stare UEFA down without blinking, it must threaten to hit back in a way that would fundamentally FTSU. and not just for our own good, but for football at large.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Feel sick to me bollocks that I'm being asked to try and get my head around this lawyer/accountancy stuff. Did they ever make an effort to convince people that it's not just about preventing competition?

I can understand your competition being a bit miffed, but from my lowly point of view it would be great to have a few more situations like yours, especially being handled as well as yours. Big investment in youth academies - creating jobs, brightening up parts of the country in general and just might improve our chances of a World Cup win. Magic!
