City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

OK a punless post. There is no way that a club that posts a loss of £51m in the last year warrants a fine of £50 m plus other sanctions that are likely to have a detrimental financial impact.

There is no way the CAS would deem that as proportionate.

Calm down its Gill and co setting the scene so that they can say we got off lightly with what ever we end up with as punishment.

Of course we all know that UEFA will make up the rules to suit, as they go along.

But does anyone know where exactly it says that you can lose wtf you like if you are not already participating in the CL (i.e. Liverpool)?

All the media are saying Liverpool lost £90m last 2 seasons but that's OK as it doesn't count. For the life of me, I can't see the "except Liverpool" clause in the rules. Unless they are just *literally* making it up as they go along?
It's bullshit, but they have no way out next year, they'll have to produce a £95m swing, there or thereabouts in their accounts while simultaneously strengthening the squad.

Feel sick to me bollocks that I'm being asked to try and get my head around this lawyer/accountancy stuff. Did they ever make an effort to convince people that it's not just about preventing competition?

I can understand your competition being a bit miffed, but from my lowly point of view it would be great to have a few more situations like yours, especially being handled as well as yours. Big investment in youth academies - creating jobs, brightening up parts of the country in general and just might improve our chances of a World Cup win. Magic!
Not really no, they haven't even really sanctioned debt, just an increase in footballing debt if it tops £5m a year, the good news is that they are showing the world their true colours.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Oh here's another one, uefa fined Juve 300k for their match fixing thingy a few years ago...

All of you making puns - be warned. The mods will soon start handing out punative fines
