City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

The only wrong thing City will ever do with respect to this FFP scam is to actually pay any fine or comply with any punishment because that will signify UEFA and the so called established clubs superiority and governance over us. The whole rule was designed by clubs like Bayern, Man U, Arsenal etc under the cloak of UEFA regulations to harass City as we pose a challenge to the status quo. That is the only purpose of this FFP scam so Manchester City, the owners and the lawyers should absolutely be on their feet and not succumb to this effort of the so called elite to flex their muscles and harass City.

They have already given a verdict, don't you understand?, the verdict is the decision to institute the FFP rules in the first place. City was already guilty by default. So I don't pay any notice to any of this nonsense and I hope the club shows insight and resolve to fight off these people because when you start paying fines, being submissive and portraying a guilt image to the public or giving the impression that we have actually done something wrong (which we havent!!), then its a slippery slope from then onwards.

Funny enough, this story was headline when Chelsea beat Liverpool then it cooled down again. Alas it is now headline once again after Saturday and Monday results.

As long as I am concerned, the players should focus on winning the premier league. That is all that matters and any media OR UEFA scheme to stunt our progress and marr our image should be identified for what it is and fought against vehemently and I believe that one way to fight this is to ensure that we win the league on Sunday and I hope we have wise and competent lawyers that sees what is actually going on.

As I've already posted, I think City will either revisit current sponsorship deals if we win the league again, or go all out and sign some massive new sponsorship deals to make up the money UEFA are planning to take off us.

Won't UEFA just decide that they are "unfair" too though? I mean, even if they are with non-UAE companies, the timing would be so propitious that surely UEFA would have no choice but to go "you pulled strings to get this deal. Nope. Not going to happen"

No.

Apologies. Massive was the wrong word.

We can sign several new sponsorship deals that would add up to the €60mill deducted over the next 3 years. I'm sure there will be plenty of takers if we win the title again.

You only have to look at what United are up to. The proposed Aon Carrington training ground sponsorship deal, reportedly worth in the region of £150mill, the £40mill DHL training kit deal, which United have now bought out, and up to 50 individual sponsorship deals that they currently have.

We have huge scope to increase the number of sponsorship deals, and the amount of money we get, and will get from them.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Qatar and Abu Dhabi should expand their portfolio's into some more ownership of some UEFA sponsors and some media outlets

We should go in to champs league get the cash but use it to blood youngsters and very clearly prioritise the prem , it would hurt UEFA much more if we fielded a weakened team in a big game sponsor wise than if we walked away.

We should then also consider what action can be taken not by Manchester city , could be one of the sponsors or a player that we could support but not drag the club in directly.

Or we find out it is all bluff from UEFA and we get a 23 man squad and a smaller fine payable by Abu Dhabi and move on which I still think likely

If we're Premiership Champions in a prospective 62k stadium we should be able to ramp up our Commercial Income significantly. The stadium itself will generate extra Match Day revenue

It will, but that is 15 and 30 months away.

I'm wondering if City will revisit the new and current training academy sponsorship deal with Etihad, if there is one?

If City could offer that out for sponsorship, it would bring in a huge deal.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

At this point I just want to see a ruling so we can move forward. However that would look it will be better than the constant speculation and worry we've been dealing with so far.

Couldn't agree more. It's obvious he's here to wind people up with snide two-word replies.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Seems a cheeky option, but couldn't us and PSG sponsor each other for £100m a year, or something similarly ridiculous? Each club could advertise each others games or whatver, while sticking two fingers up at Platini. Given that we are unrelated, they wouldn't be able to "revalue" the agreement?

Presumably not possible, but would be funny as fuck if we did!

It so sad when coming on to the opposition's forum is the last crumb of comfort he can squeeze out of ManUre's season.

As for FFP, as said previously, on a point of priciple we have to fight this all the way. We didn't pick this fight, the G14 through UEFA did and if we can't convince the world that debt and not investment is the problem in football, something is very wrong with us.

I have an anger burning deep inside me, but experience has taught me not to let my emotions get the better of me because that's when you lose focus of the goal ahead. So we shouldn't let our anger get the better of us, we should concentrate our efforts on getting even with the G14.

If they want a scrap, we should give them one and all of us have a responsibility to help the club we love. I've invested too much emotion, energy, time and money for someone to come along and do this to us. For years spending copious amounts of money on the best players and highest wages wasn't a problem, but up pop City and it suddenly becomes one.

We've all discussed this to death so I won't go over the points all again as we all know FFP is bullshit and directly aimed at us, but we need a concerted plan and effort from us the fans to help our club. Like I said, if they want war, let's give them war becuase I fo one am more than up for it and I hope the club is too.
