I've asked him (nicely, I think) to go easy on the public statements of opinion as fact, worrying blues needlessly and giving people the wrong opinion and that, hopefully he does.

Wouldn`t a good kick in his plums be more worthy ?
Doesn't work for the MEN mate! ;)

Behave yourself. ;)

Talking of Marcotti - this exchange has just taken place:

Daniel Geey ‏@FootballLaw · 18m
Very interesting suggestion from @timmythehill that UEFA FFP fines should go into the prize pool for compliant clubs.

Gabriele Marcotti ‏@Marcotti · 17m
@FootballLaw @timmythehill pretty sure that's just what they'll do

Daniel Geey ‏@FootballLaw · 16m
@Marcotti @timmythehill big potential French & English pools...

Gabriele Marcotti ‏@Marcotti · 13m
@FootballLaw @timmythehill I think they shd spread it around prize money not market pool.

And I have responded with a suggestion of my own!

Re: City & FFP (continued)

62 million for coming last. To think we were blasted when we loaned Bellamy to Cardiff, people saying disgusting as a PL players and it distorts the championship. I am sure the 62 million + Para shoot payments to follow (I think) wont be as bad in distorting the Championship though, especially teams aiming to go up who do not have the 62 million handout

Big Question, @timmythehill, Arsenal, Chelsea, Giddypool or Rag?

United take another £10mill hit.(1st to 7th) + £25mill-£30mill for missing out on a CL place next season + £10mill-£15mill paying off Moyes and his staff = £50mill-£60mill.

It's like they've fined themselves an FFPR fine. Lol!

Interesting this. I've just been reading the Procedural Rules governing the operation of the CFCB and have come across something interesting. This says, about the Investigatory Chamber:
Article 14 – End of the investigation

At the end of the investigation, the CFCB chief investigator, after having consulted with the other members of the investigatory chamber, may decide to:
a) dismiss the case;or
b) conclude, with the consent of the defendant, a settlement agreement; or
c) apply, with the consent of the defendant, disciplinary measures limited to a warning, a reprimand or a fine up to a maximum amount of €100,000; or
d) refer the case to the adjudicatory chamber.

The higher Adjudicatory Chamber can impose higher penalties, including fines and squad size restrictions but not offer settlements.

Therefore it's complete media bullshit that we've been offered a settlement involving a multi-million Euro fine and CL squad restriction. That isn't part of the rules.

Marcotti is claiming that the £100k is only related to fines and that the £50m being talked about has been incorrectly called a fine and is actually a withholding of prize money (hence why they want to spread it out over 3 seasons as we wouldn't get £50m prize money in 1 season). I've questioned where exactly in FFP it says that the holding back of prize money is an acceptable punishment, as Article 14 certainly makes no reference to it, I'll see what he says.
