It's better than it looks at first glance. €40m of the fine is conditional as long as we comply with the terms so might only cost us €20m overall. We have to accept a 21 man CL squad for next season but we only used 21 players last season. We have had a wage ceiling imposed but last year's wage bill included around £30m paid to Mancini and his cohorts under the terms of their contract and we're reducing the wage bill anyway. We have to meet a €20m break-even deficit target this year and half that the year after. That shouldn't be a problem either.

Yep looks like our owners negotiated it to what the outcome is now and don't want to make any fuss regarding taking it further.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

So there you have it, all the know it alls and experts saying we would get away with it look like being proven wrong. Pretty obvious really that we were going to get stung, why else would they have bothered bringing it in. Like I said earlier and got slated, we wont be breaking even (in the eyes of UEFA at least) any time soon, especially now they are restricting our 'dodgier' deals.

Who cares anyway, we're champions again and we could only dream of this until our owners came in. UEFA want their piece of the pie no matter how corrupt it clearly is.

Does anyone actually think the people running our club have been outflanked? Some of you are letting your hearts rules your heads.

Well it's certainly looking that way mate. I can't understand why we have allowed them to class Etihad as related party.
How do you know they have?

I'm content to look at the bigger picture. We wouldn't have acquiesced with this if it wasn't in our long term strategic interests.

I misread the bit about not increasing sponsorship. I missed the word secondary and assumed they meant the Etihad deal.
If they have accepted the Etihad deal isn't an RPT, and it suddenly increases to about £100M a year, it would be a serious Fuck You to Uefa. I'm just dreaming though, because at this stage it feels like we have been well and truly outmanoeuvred.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Why is everyone suggesting it's a disaster? We have failed FFP and from what I can see the club must be confident we will pass next year. If we aren't making a fuss about it then there mustn't be anything to make a fuss about

Re: City & FFP (continued)

How much is the CL squad size reduced by?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Very dissapointing, I'd rather fight than compromise on what is clearly a corrupt rule. Not a bad result, but I'd rather not give credence to this bullshit

Re: City & FFP (continued)

If they've changed the goal posts with regard to pre 2010 players, they should have accepted fuck all any fought it in my opinion.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

From the outset, the Club has engaged with UEFA in its introduction of the Financial Fair Play Regulations in good faith and without prejudice and in a transparent and collaborative manner. The Club’s position is that it is beholden upon UEFA and the European football establishment to ensure the same.

Should we be reading something into this paragraph?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Well, there's the European elections coming up soon. It could be worth having a word with the prospective MEPs? So few bother to vote, I'm sure us fans could come along as helpful allies or unwanted enemies to any prospect MEP. What do you think? Say there's at least 100,000 blues in the Northwest, well that could easily swing it.

Other than this, we could all write/complain to the UEFA's sponsors.... Boycott the likes of Carlsburg, MacDonalds etc....

However, lets see what has happened first. If we've been hit less than PSG and/or even the same then the club should feel rightly pissed off.... I mean they should feel pissed off anyway, but even more so.

Re: City & FFP (continued)

And what are they fucking going to do with the fucking, fucking fine revenues. We let them rob us blind?!
