City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Bitter much?

Platini told the French radio station RTL: “The world is two-faced but we will say this openly: I think we’ll ease things, but it will be the executive committee who will decide if it is to be eased or something like that, and the outcome will be known by the end of June.

“I think the regulations have been very good and it is the clubs who voted for FFP.

“But the French press say it is not right that [Chelsea owner Roman] Abramovich can buy many players and in France they cannot buy them. But if the Qataris had bought AC Milan the French would also say we should make financial fair play even tougher. As it is, the Italians wanted it eased.”

One source close to the negotiations said: “Many clubs want change – the current system means those who have more will always have more, and those who have less will always have less.”

I didn't realise there were ten cases before the courts. No wonder they shat their knickers. Imagine trying to fight on ten fronts.

Wouldn't really happen like that, if the cases were similar. If you won the first one, the next nine would more than likely be dropped, but if you lost the first one, you'd have to concede and settle out of court in the other 9, or in this case just change the bloody legislation to something fit for purpose.

Honestly, it certainly can work like that. Depends on the nature of the suit. They aren't mutually exclusive at all.

• Move aims to head off more than 10 legal challenges
• Michel Platini promises: ‘I think we’ll ease things’

I went into my local greengrocer today as I'd decided to give it a whirl, "hiya I'm new and would like to spend 200 quid please", "u can't", he replied. "The association of greengrocers has decided any new customers must only spend a tenner", whilst telling me this a smug looking guy who was on first name terms with the grocer chirped up, "1 of everything please and stick it on my tab, oh and here's a fiver off my bill".

The 'relaxing' of the rules may well be the price UEFA had to pay to come to an agreement with City at the time of our fine?

The 'pinch' might just be the price accepted by City to put the thing to bed without an expensive legal battle?

no refund or "relaxing" will make up for the obvious con it was to hold us back. it was a scheme to enable our closest rivals a free run at some of europes best players. we simply could not compete. that in turn costs the selling club because there was no competion for the players signiture. had we been in the game the price our rivals paid would have been considerably more having had to "blow us out of the water".if that was the case they could maybe have to buy one less player. even worse sell an asset.

its a con and it's illegal.

go get em city.

I like how closely this follows a certain team announcing a £2.2mil deficit 3 month finances just after spending well over a Quarter of a billion pounds.

Part of you expects the established elite trying to scew the competition in their favour, that happens in every sector of business. But I have never, in my life, seen such a corrupt set of B*stards be applauded for doing so.

On a side note, Is there any word on us getting our fine back?

Yes it does and I'd be willing to bet that every single challenge they face is on the grounds that FFPR are in breach of Articles 101/2. If one court rules that they are, then they are and it wouldn't be feasible to fight the other nine cases. If one court rules that they're not, then they're not and the other cases would have next to no chance of succeeding. Alternatively it could be a class action by 10 different plaintiffs or groups of plaintiffs that would only be one case, comprising ten separate challenges.

So the old Milan Giants who schemed for this in the first place have now shut themselves out and they want it easing. Suddenly, despite years of this being obvious, Platini realises that the corrupt regulation is unfair. The whole thing leaves a sour taste.

It doesn't get any better for the Raggies, does it?

Interesting. Let's hope that is the Premier League FFP fucked as well then? And the Football League, where are they now going to stand with QPR, for example?

Nice to see the backlash from some other fans and that a few rags on there have a brain.

I'm quite surprised they allow BobbyManc and BigDunc to post.
They have batted back every ludicrous rag suggestion with consummate ease
