City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Just woke up to this.

No surprise. Very brief summary from what I can see from the BBC site and which seems a decent summary, relying upon the club's own statement.

The club were always going to do a deal [as I have said for several days now]. It is not in the Arab nature to engage in litigation and, in this instance, it makes no business sense. Better to have a cut off now and move on. Winning the PL was probably the cherry on the cake and will, overall, cover the net euro 17m fine.

it seems highly likely that MCFC will break even for next season.

Of this Euro 49 m fine, 32m is suspended. Presumably, not payable if we play along from now on [which we will].

The club say they were only going to use 21 players in the LC anyway.

They also say that wages were not going to increase in any event.

Finally, MCFC say that the net 49m on transfers was all they were planning to spend this summer as a maximum!

So, I think that AUDG will be quietly happy about all this and, as others have said, FFP will ultimately benefit MCFC more than any other club. You will look back and see how FFP is now dead in the water from our perspective.

Just think how Platini will be crying today, He tried his best for the cartel but it's all over now.

Therefore, for me, excellent news! Now can we move back to football matters. Cheers. CTID

The only issue we might have is that Soriano's break even calculations will include CL money, which will be €20m lower for next season. The ridiculous thing is that losing that €20m could cause us to fail FFP again, which will then cost us the €40m we'd get back if we passed, which could cause us to fail it again in the next year, resulting in another fine.....you get the picture. I can't wait for the first team to go bankrupt as a result of UEFA's bullshit. See how they weasel their way out of that one.

I am sure they have thought about that

50m fine is nothing really. 50m is more than enough to build on a title winning squad. The money generated from the league win should cover the fine too. Spend wisely for this year and it's a new slate clean as it's only one year.

It's not a 50 million fine mate

Actually that idiot Ed Thompson with his site maybe not that big idiot now as he was called here.

People said we are not bending to Uefa, some said we arent even talking to them, we do not want them lower their offer we wait very carefully because there will be a war...

Ohh Bluemoon.:)

Well get some more sponsors Soriano, thats the job now vut still as we accepted this whole FFP now clearly, we signed up for the spend as much as you earn group, and unles we really can get big sponsors in we will have a disadvantage on Barca, Real/United.

Read the club statement, that's all I can say to you

Of course.

I don't want to spend all my Saturday debating this as I've said my piece. I leave it to the mods to sort out.

I just wish that everyone would accept that ADUG know what they are doing, The club has to say it's disappointed. It's just spin. It's a great result. Euro 17m could be spent on litigation. What for? ADUG have better things to do. That lot are going to lose 30m quid for not being in Europe. Compare and contrast if you wish.

It is also good to hear this news now. It will largely be forgotten once the WC starts and so any negative coverage will be diluted and eventually washed away. Furthermore, the club has time to plan ahead now. They are good at that sort of thing, you know!

Re: City & FFP (continued)

The Club Statement to me is withering in its contempt but pragmatic to the extreme. It is saying: "You know that we have the financial clout and legal power to fuck you over but in the interests of fair play and so as not to drag this farce out any longer, we will - reluctantly - accept your altered terms and your artificial guidelines as we will easily handle them financially and the effect will not be too stressful for our European adventures (which we quite frankly need a little more experience in anyway so why not play some kids, right?) and in one short year, we will be near-profitable anyway and wave two very large fingers in your collective face(s). Then we will go about the serious business of winning your vulgar but necessary cup. And make no mistake; we will win it very soon."

So fuck 'em all. We will gracefully bow out of this battle but we will win the war with something to spare.

I have to disagree with that statement, from personal experience.

OK mate. Everyone has a different story. It's my overall view. I also apologise for any facts that I have got wrong. However, my view remains the same. I leave the conspiracy theories to de niro and the paranoia gang!

This. Great result for us. We jumped over the moat just before they pulled the drawbridge up. We are now part of the cartel. I don't like it but better to be inside than outside in the cold moaning. Inside 5 years, the rest of the cartel will be used to us and everybody will have forgotten about us and be busy keeping other new boys out of their playground. It will leave a bitter taste for our management but is the least worst deal for us.

We won't we will have three of the best academies in the world taking some of the best talent in Asia, Europe and the Americas all working to one goal and we will have access to markets through our other teams in a way no other clubs do, we will use this to have a better youth pipeline bar anyone and to put ourselves at the head of the queue in the markets that are most growing . We can shift problem wages away we can bring talent in cheap and we can bring it in via other clubs. None of this can be touched either,

Best of all we are through the door now
