Platini told Sky Sports News: "The people at Manchester City are not happy, the people of PSG, they are not happy, but I think Manchester United, Everton, they are happy. It's very subjective. We have to follow the regulations but I think it's an historical moment and a good moment for football.

Personally I think its unprofessional of him to be mentioning names when talking to to the press

You are of course right, it shows he is not impartial, but then again it just proves that there is an agenda fuelled by certain clubs who have so much to lose, however I also happen to beleive that the bark is far worse than the bite

Evening mate.Just happened to catch him brown nosing Rooney on SSN....
There is no doubt an agenda but I think they missed stopping us-Just.

Khaldoon was so right..In 6 yrs they will sit up,take note and realise that our business model is the right model...

Agreed mate, the future is sky blue

Re: City & FFP (continued)

"Manchester United are happy" I bet they are, you corrupt fucker. They won't be when the reality really hit's them in the years to come, as to what's being built.

BTW, has there been any news on the transfer spending limit for the 2nd season of sanctions, is it 60m euros? is it even applicable, if we pass ffp next year?

Re: City & FFP (continued)

Sanctions are one year only if we meet FFP next year, which Khaldoon says we will ALREADY!

And, don't forget, transfers are NET of outgoings, so if we sell a player for €20M we get to add that to the €60M we can already spend!

Even though the media is making hay on the FFP "punishment," it is a virtual non-event given where we are and the plans already in place.

The teams that REALLY need to take notice are not based in Manchester!

Good to know, if that's true it's little more than a slap on the wrist (or a pinch). I was aware about any transfer fee's being added to the 60m euro's just hadn't seen anything concrete about the second season.

Cheers anyway.

How frustrating is it that so many have been hoodwinked by this whole affair. From the offset Platin (and increasingly he seems to be showing his lack of intelligence judging by his unprofessional acts) let it be known the true push behind these rules was from the parasitic fat cat owners. Yet most people in the press, in football (including club owners) and fans apparently refuse to see what is going on in front of their eyes! It's unbelievable to the extent that I'm starting to wonder if this this is just the start of something bigger, phase one of a wider political battle between the older Money and new.

It does show how easily 'the people' are blindly lead though.

Unfortunately the whole basis of FFP is founded on the unpleasant human emotions of jealousy, greed and protectionism. Most of football have looked at City/PSG/Chelsea etc. with green eyed envy. They have then sought to blame what has happened to these clubs for the ills within football rather than seeing that these clubs actions have been taken as a consequence to the current situation that has been permitted to develop. This has caused such short sightedness that it has permitted the evolution of FFP without a thorough analysis of its consequences, which as we know will be to create a competitive imbalance causing a permanent elite which will eventually strangle the game.

It is utterly remarkable that because people are still taken aback by the sums of money involved, which create great headlines for the tabloid reading moronic masses, that they still can't see what the effects of FFP will be. Again this is purely caused by envy. I can't believe that I am yet to meet a fan of clubs like Villa, Everton & Newcastle etc. that fully understands this. I wonder sometimes whether they have actually stopped to think about the consequences of FFP for their clubs' future. It seems to me that they haven't because they have been purely fixated on trying to stop City becoming one of the elite. I think we have had to give far more thought to the long term consequences of FFP than fans of other clubs because it was designed to stop us and because our analysis of it has not been riddled with envy. Again, whenever I speak to fans of other clubs about FFP their understanding of it seems very crude and they have swallowed hook line and sinker the sort of bullshit peddled by Wenger. Once I try to engage them in a deeper conversation about it it's evident that they know little about it, and they don't like to be told the truth.

It's very sad that legislation has been drawn up on these grounds. Slowly more people seem to be becoming aware of the long term ramifications of FFP and will come round to our view, but this will also require plenty of journalists to perform a volte face, which is not something they are renowned for doing.
