City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

1.0 was aimed at us and PSG

2.0 is aimed at PSG and the whole of the EPL including United as far as I can tell

It’s increasingly difficult to come up with rules that isolate City without capturing some of the moaning old guard.

I think the Neymar deal was the catalyst. City beat the rules with cleverness while PSG just don’t care. It’s partly PSG’s fault for not being more subtle but then part of me thinks why should they have to?

Barcelona Real Madrid and Bayern are behind this imho. If it’s true that RM have lost stadium funding because of this then good.

Probably already been posted elsewhere but this probably has a lot to do with it(send this to every oil money spouting rag you know):
Broadcasting Income Comparison:

Domestically up there with anyone and most likely still rapidly growing in Europe since Pep arrived, especially on this seasons form. Most watched PL club in the US last figures we had, working on China, probably have eyes on South America with the Brazilian summer tour proposals if we are not yet already the most watched PL club. Things are looking pretty good for us and they don't like it.

Also I think we all need to credit Martin Samuel here it's not often we have journalists brave enough to tell it like it really is when City are concerned, instead of point scoring with their peers.

Things like salary cap and revenue sharing are FFP. Most of these rules do not help small clubs to become more competitive with the top teams.

On another note the premier league is much more competitive since City and Chelsea have invested.

Any truth (RM) to this^

He and most of the people on this thread seem to have forgotten that there are squad size limitations in the plan - including players on loan. So the Chelsea and City academies rather lose their shine.
Big clubs jùst adopt the Bayern trick and get the best players from their competitors and wait for the players contract to wind down and get him for free.

I can't wait to see the face of Levi when Kane walks for nowt.

If this affects the other top clubs in the PL as well as us then why would we all agree to terms that Real, Bayern etc are trying arbitrarily to impose on us. Surely we don't as a league have to be led by the nose by these cun.ts just because it suits their purpose. How does all this work?

Interesting suggestion that Abromovich and Platini are on the same side now after the former having bought himself into the position he wanted. Chelsea do seem to have oddly curbed their spending at times they could have spent and reinforced, maybe there is something to that.

All you see is Villa fans complaining about FFP on Twitter. Wolves fans are the same, as are plenty more clubs. More people are aware why FFP was created now. It’s not UEFA’s and the top clubs little secret anymore.
Weren't complaining about it before their 'new money' were they? The penny has dropped now and they realize the drawbridge has been pulled up. If you're outside the elite now, you will never get in. The new problem now is that even the old established elite can't keep pace anymore. There just isn't the money in the Italian, German, or even to an extent the Spanish league. Nothing they have introduced is either fair or progressive, it's just all restrictive practice designed to hold us back.

If they are going to do this it needs a complete reboot with a new, more honest name SCW(Stop City Winning), SCB(Stop City B*****s) something along those lines so everyone is clear on it's purpose.
