Mourinho is on great form this week isn't he. Can't wait to hit them for 5 tomorrow and hear what he has to say this week. There could be tears.
He's being an even bigger knobhead that I imagined he would be. Whining like a bitch because West Ham did to them what Mourinho's sides do in tough away games. Thank fuck we've got Pellegrini instead of that tosspot.

Long term City wont attract the best players or retain our best players and hence our ability to win the title would be reduced considerably

European competition CL in particula is fundamental to everything

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

Chelsea's losses under mourinho's first tenure

2005 £131.6m
2006 £77.1m
2007 £65.6m
2008 £69.2m
Total 343.5m

the word hypocrite may be apt.

that said, our advisers are the ones that wrote the rules for UEFA. I doubt we'll have a problem

Our players.

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

Based on Reading through all the posts I think we will be OK with FFP. We can only continue to do what we are doing well:
(A) selling out the ground every week and building our support for an expanded stadium.
(B) widening our base of sponsors and lucrative endorsements. It might mean buying more shirts from the club shop etc to help make our deals more lucrative.
(C) retaining the best lawyers and using the international business clout of our owners - if FFP does kick off.

I don't think there is a need to put a contract out on David Gill just yet!!!!

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

it is just anti-City propaganda - on the day that manure lose their 8th game of the season, Mr Herbert of the Independent writes a report to take the flak away from his beloved shite club.

Will UEFA throw the book at us just because some portuguese manager named mourinho has somehow gained over night knowledge of accounting and running a clubs books, says that something dodgy is going down ??? Special one - No, Special needs - Yes

Will UEFA throw the book at PSG - a french club that has owners that have strong links with UEFA/FIFA

It is absolute drivel

It's just a new rule that says if we were punished and we argued for a lesser punishment then another affected club could argue for the original punishment to stick.

No clubs have ganged up on us. There's no point in getting angry at them. The media is shit stirring and there is no need to fall for it.

Too late I guess and I said I was going to bed too. :-)

You couldn't be more wrong.

Since we got taken over FFFP rules have been driven by the cartel of clubs in Europe the biggest drivers being united, Munich arsenal , et al FFFP came about by them going to uefa

I think you have misunderstood what he was saying have another read

Sorry I was picking up on the ganging up bit. The article might appertaini to recent events but it's being going on from the very start especially with Arsenal United and Liverpool

Re: "City face Euro Expulsion"

Undoubtedly, whomever finishes fifth this year will now be lodging an objection, if there are even the slimmest hopes of their climbing aboard the CL gravy train.
Imagine Levy or Henry taking exclusion quietly? Me neither.

If there's no grounds to object (ie UEFA don't sanction City), they'll be up on their hind legs whining to the press for whatever satisfaction that brings. The papers, particularly during silly season, will run their tale of gripe with all the bells and whistles attached.

Strap yourselves in for a turbulent summer, any road.

Worst case scenario? We're out of European football for a year at most.

It won't come to that, in my humble etc but, even if it did, we'd pillage the silverware on offer, domestically. So, not all bad news.

It won't come to that, though. These things have a habit of being decided in favour of the people with the most money to throw at the problem (legal fees, potential revenue for UEFA, attraction to TV audiences etc all add up, significantly).

We'll be okay, no matter how much they huff and puff.
Listen to thunder, as we say in my part of the world. Listen to thunder.

Re: Sunday Press. "City may face Euro Expulsion"

Can't somebody bring a legal action to enable us to have a pint at a CL game!!

I think that the main reason we don't sell out every group game.

Re: Sunday Press. "City may face Euro Expulsion"

Looking at the headlines this morning it's a pretty safe bet that (a) Man U lost yesterday (b) City are top of the league and (c) we play Chelsea tomorrow.

Meanwhile, in other news, the authorities sit there like the useless twats they are and allow a club of the stature of Leeds United go down exactly the same route as Portsmouth. The very situation we were all assured FFP would prevent.

Re: Sunday Press. "City may face Euro Expulsion"

Our accounts came out this week and it gives the press a chance to fill some space with a story that they hope will cause some controversy. Whether that has anything to do with a media agenda against us or is just a good way to get clicks on a website is not a debate that I can be bothered with.

We have long been the main source of media interest in this country when it comes to FFP.

I would be disappointed if our owner and board did not have a solid strategy for coping with UEFA and their G14 chums and I refuse to worry about this shit. I am far more worried about beating Chelsea tomorrow.

Re: Sunday Press. "City may face Euro Expulsion"

Even if the old top 4 are conspiring, and I don't think they are, it's just cheap headlines on the back of pre-match Mourinho games, there are a few things which should reassure:

In no particular order:

a) City's Chairman predicts City to be profitable in the season 2013/14, and while this does not affect the previous monitoring period, it establishes a trend.
b) In the Summer window, Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea are going to be spending heavily whilst City spent nothing in the last window, and over the last 2 seasons, Utd and Chelsea's net spend is greater.
c) The controversial deal is estimated to be worth £400m over 10 years, yet that is fair-value, and £40m is just 15% of City's revenue for 2011/12 and if it's a flat fee, it will shrink as revenue grows.
d) There are other clubs whose sponsorship deals and financing are a lot more "suspect"
e) FFP is widely seen by a lot of people as a pretty obvious attempt by the old clubs to keep out the new. The propaganda war has already been won.

Cheers mate, brilliant laugh for a Sunday morning!

Re: Sunday Press. "City may face Euro Expulsion"

This is very simplistic and maybe I'm missing something but if Uncle Malcs £800m mortgage doesnt count with the FFP rules. Then surely our owner can just Remortgage? ?

a) Good news then
b) Bang on - they clearly didn't think it through
c) good point
d) You're not wrong there
e) Agreed - everyone knows exactly what this is about - and there are bigger parties than Platini ready to drag his arse through the courts.

We are top of the league…… and that's why we're hearing about it

True. Daniel Taylor penned a quite good article in the Observer on the back of stuff that was in the Annual Report.

There was always going to be a few waves when City released their financial figures
