It's better than it looks at first glance. €40m of the fine is conditional as long as we comply with the terms so might only cost us €20m overall. We have to accept a 21 man CL squad for next season but we only used 21 players last season. We have had a wage ceiling imposed but last year's wage bill included around £30m paid to Mancini and his cohorts under the terms of their contract and we're reducing the wage bill anyway. We have to meet a €20m break-even deficit target this year and half that the year after. That shouldn't be a problem either.

But it stops us strengthening the squad ..... no ?

Well it's certainly looking that way mate. I can't understand why we have allowed them to class Etihad as related party.

How do you know they have?

I'm content to look at the bigger picture. We wouldn't have acquiesced with this if it wasn't in our long term strategic interests.

Its not that bad.. Really, we made it.

It gives UEFA what it wants ie a show that they're the big bully and we take what probably will be a slap on the wrist.

Yes, this should be no problem for us.

It's become apparent we've tried to get around a shortfall by selling off Intellectual Property rights to "City Group"

UEFA have said no, can't be included

We've eventually backed down and said ok

I'd expect someone, possibly a few will lose their job for that to be honest

When Sponsorship deals would have seen us ok, we've taken a wrong decision and it's cost us
