City & FFP | 2020/21 Accounts released | Revenues of £569.8m, £2.4m profit (p 2395)

We should sue the fuck out of Uefa. Simply changing the rules because their glory clubs can't adhere to it. Blatantly bent.

PS And does anyone know what happened to the fine we paid? Bet you it doesnt show in Uefa's accounts.

Does this mean Real and Barca do not have transfer embargos and utd and Liverpool can spunk over £150 mil with no repercussions!"!!

Think Barca's embargo had nothing to do with FFP nor Real's possible ban.

The fine was allegedly distributed among the clubs who did adhere to the FFP rules , even the rags got a few bob off us , but its always nice to help the needy

Longer term bankruptcy may be a repercussion for at least one of the clubs on your list ...

Looks like the UEFA lawyers have realised they were going to lose in court so have decided they may as well save themselves some time and money.
Time to get the cheque book out and blow them red fucks out the water :)

Lets see what happens, UEFA cleverly never put any actual possible punishments down in stone, so maybe they feel they can change them year on year.

However, if they are significantly different to what we suffered and we feel ours and a current case are comparable, then we should go for Platini's jugular legally speaking. They pushed fines and restrictions on us which, in reality with the season fast approaching and the threat of not complying meaning loss of income and maybe even being kicked out of certain competitions, meant we could never really challenge it or query it more than we did.

Am sure that UEFA will want to be seen as being very careful what they do here, the whole thing stinks and won't last long in my opinion, its anti competitive and very selective in punishment, but certainly we will be feeling we can adequately prove that we were disadvantaged by this ruling without the opportunity to discuss, not just theoretically in terms of how it affected our chances to compete this last season, but actually in terms of what they took from us under imminent threat of greater action.

I hope it all falls down, I hope Platini gets his just desserts. I hope that in its place something arises to protect all tiers of football without preventing the next Man City from rising to prominence. We may be in the elite club now and be encouraged to keep quiet and enjoy the massage, but the company here stinks of old farts and dinosaurs who enjoy the luxuries and riches of the game rather than the base joy and excitement that most of the players, fans and staff of many clubs actually enjoy the game for in the first place.

I might be being optimistic but I think this climb down by UEFA, couple with the clear out we are going to undertake, I think we are going to see City spend an unprecedented amount this Summer. I wouldn't be surprised if we end up with Pogba (£65m), De Bruyne (£35m) and Sterling (£50m) as well as a few other squad players to flesh out the gaps left by Milner and Lampard.

You do have to say though, they thought they could establish an actual cartel and when it had backfired on a select few former glory clubs they have panicked like mad. It's just pathetic that the governing body is literally a puppet to the old g14.

Wonder if it would be canceled for good would we go back and make huge losses again? Right now in theory we dont even have the chance for that given FFP. Even if we would want to do that we couldnt.

But would we if there is no more ffp like from 2016 summer?

I am 100% sure PSG would go and give the market some nice inflation and fight.

What are the chances we get or money back + interest? UEFA must know they're doing something wrong if they're backing down like this.

An interesting concept
Particularly as Liverpool have already flown that flag only to have it rescued by some very dodgy intervention

I think you're being overly generous in describing it as merely "dodgy".

If UEFA relax their regulations does that mean the premier league will then follow suit or are these two sets of regulations completely independent of each other?

You can bet they will if they think their form of FFP is damaging their representatives chances in Europe. But seeing as yank profiteers own enough PL clubs to veto any meaningful changes it's unlikely imo.
