Only a matter of time before we tried the Chinese market. How crap have things become when it's all about how many shirts and other merchandise you can sell around the world. The rags started it all then everyone else followed, but that's modern football for you. I'm only bothered about what we do on the pitch, bollox to all this other stuff.
There's an official story now on the CFG website, headed "City Football Group, UBTECH and China Sports Capital acquire Sichuan Jiuniu FC in China League Two".

It's not really about merch sales or generating Man City fans for CFG. Based on what they've said the main attraction is the idea they can dominate sponsors by offering potential partners visibility in several major markets.
Do you want to sponsor Chelsea for £Xm and get exposure from Chelsea, or do you want to sign a bigger, global deal with us and get exposure in Britain, New York/USA, Melbourne/Australia, Sezchuan/China and Yokohama/Japan.
