City Football Group | Secure $650m loan facility for infrastructure projects (p 54)

Interesting quote from Khaldoon :

Khaldoon Al Mubarak has indicated that the proceeds from the investment will be used by City Football Group to fund international business growth opportunities and develop further CFG technology and infrastructure assets.
I think it describes Mbappe pretty well :)

This. No accident that the UEFA head honcho at the Etihad coincided with the announcement.

We are not privvy to the latest thinking behind Sorans vision for CFG but having a presence in different leagues around the world presents new opportunities in this age of technology. The maximum number of supporters watching a game live at a ground is around 100,000 whilst linking through technology numbers are unlimited with scope for all sorts of new developments.

We do not yet know the vision but Silver Lake would not be investing if they did not believe they will see a good return on investment.

the slightly worrying thing is you can always spot a private equity guy in a room as he will be the one coming in backwards as they are always looking for an exit.

not sure about this , our owners are long term investors private equity tend not to be. There may be a different in vision and exit timescales.

That matches PB's inclination posted earlier that it might be for such things as the New York stadium.

How do you know it didn't change anything?

How did it change things for you on a day to day match going basis?

Since I've posted that, Khaldoon has come out and specified the money is being invested in CFG growth, not Manchester City's squad or stadium.

Exactly like the CFC money that went into investing in China.

You're not going to see big visible changes at MCFC.

And, placing your hand in ADUG’s glove might lead to a very lucrative partnership for them over the longer term. Relationships matter when the money starts in the 9 figures, with an expectation of turning it into 10 figures within a decade!
Agree, ADUG in Manchester have funded projects with the local council worth many millions that are not football related. Taking this part of their operation to other countries should extend our owners investment portfolio globally.
