City Football Group | Secure $650m loan facility for infrastructure projects (p 54)

Its a great feeling. I am 42 and never thought i would witness what we have since 2008.

But it warms my heart to think that in maybe 25 or 30 years time we could be the most successful english club ever...and my children will be a part of that going forward as fans.

The icing on the cake is that the likes of united and liverpool will be throwing their toys out their prams along this journey

I need to eat less cheese before bedtime..

I had the weirdest dream that a US Company had invested half a billion dollars into us which then valued our team a few dollars less than some Cowboys from Dallas as the most valuable sporting team on the planet..!

I then watched a link of our Chairman saying "this is just the start for City", then with a bit of a twinkle in his eye I heard him say something along the lines of, maybe the best manager on the 3 rock from the sun will be staying a longer term to oversee things..!

And to think, we used to have the biggest floodlights a while back...!

I like it when you have a nice dream, puts you in a good mood for the rest of the day...!

Haha..!

Some dipper has posted a picture of empty seats at a Melbourne City game. It seems the valuation of the CFG has upset one or two on rawk.

This isn't good news - 10 % stake going to venture capitalists - all they care about is a return ! The Chinese deal made sense as there was a media company involved and the chance to increase and substantially grow the franchise using their expertise. There doesn't appear to be anything strategic about this alliance. Let's hope this doesn't become a growing trend or x years down the line it could be Glazer's like with football taking very much a back seat ....
If you want to be super critical we should put Sheikh Mansour in exactly the same area. He has invested in City because he wanted a return on his money and it has paid handsomely.
The new money follows a proven management team and is a commercial backing as to how the future is seen financially.

You will not see similar investments too often within the football sector.

As others mention the money is to CFG and not directly to City.
The investors are likely to know CFGs plans both for football and other areas that ADUG spreads its wings into.
Their financial stake indicates the amount of faith they have gambled for the exciting future we now know CFG will develop maybe locally but probably globally.
