City friendlies before the Christmas restart

Went to some of the early pre season friendlies at COMS that were pretty decent, Barcelona, AC Milan, Olympiacos (when some bloke called Ya Ya something scored for them!).
However I did have the 'pleasure 'of making a long trip to see us lose 1:0 to Plymouth one year which made me think 'what am I doing here?'. (,Though we did beat Exeter City in a high profile friendly a couple of nights previously)
You travelled from Manchester to Plymouth for a friendly?

Lived down South at the time( still a long way from Devon though!)Had a few days staying in Devon, fortunately didn't go just for the day. Having said that though I do have to admit it seemed a very long trek see the 1996 version of City in a couple of friendlies. Mind you, any trip to any match to see The 1996 version of City could seem like a very long (arduous) trek couldn't it!
Best bit of the trip was meeting Asa Hartford, Roy Bailey and Tony Book in a boozer full of City fans in Exeter prior to the game a couple of days previously,.From memory, all 3 seemed really friendly, pleasant and down to earth .

My daughter was the mascot that day. Only one player made the effort to acknowledge her...................
