City have lost their soul

The OP touched on another point. The rest of my family are reds and the one time I was, for want of a better word, jealous of them was around 1996. Not because of their success on the pitch per se, but with the team they had at the time, especially with all the youngsters, they felt a connection with the entire team that I felt I never would with any City team. There wasn't a single player on that podium who didn't make me smile on Sunday. That, of course, is partly a function of success, but it is also down to the fact that we have a great group of players who have an amazing team spirit. They are part of something new and exciting and are building bonds with each other and us, as supporters, that will endure as a consequence.
Appreciate the sentiment as we can practically class the likes of Joe, Micah, Zaba and Kompany as our own. They'll run throw walls for the cause. Tevez on the other hand is a complete **** who did a runner for three months and did not deserve to be there after everything he's said and done.

-- Wed May 16, 2012 12:09 pm --

Any club where the billionaire chairman is asked if it's a barm or muffin cannot possibly be accused of losing its soul.
He was actually asked bap or muffin. Soulless club.

Saw our soul on the streets of Our City centre on Sunday post the game and on Monday with fans young and old packing the streets people of Manchester all colours and creeds

Still on the subject of Torino well done on your promotion, great to see you back in Serie A where you belong.

It's 99% certain but we still need 2 points in the next 2 games to be sure. Thank you, it's not rare to see british fans coming for a weekend trip in Torino and coming to see Torino's games-if you end up in our city remember to let us know in some way, we love Manchester City's fans because we always felt that we shared a common condition: Passionate fans and a team forced to share the city with another entity that looks more like a corporate business than a football team.
I m glad for you, for the moment you are living and for the heart-stopping way with which you earned it- this is the stuff that stays forever in memory!

As someone above said, a team's soul is the fans. Some teams can talk about trophies, and vistories, and winning mentality etc but when they have a stadium full of fans who silently eat potato chips not only they dont have a soul, they're actually DEAD.

I wish you win everything my friends, but stay hungry. The images of passionate Man City fans going from desperation to ecstasy in 10 seconds is the best advertisement for football and the best proof for the existance of your soul.

Especially where the Chairman answers that question DECISIVELY, CONCLUSIVELY AND CLOSES THE DISCUSSION FOR ALL TIME.

IT'S A FUCKING MUFFIN!

As long as City fans continue to have the same humorous and daft spirit, anything else is a bonus. We've had no issues in that department. Not from where I'm standing, these past two seasons with Alan, the Poznan, "let's all do the throw in", the various Sick Swan jibes, the banter with Joe etc. all top-notch. We've lost nothing and the reaction to Aguero's goal up and down the country shows our fanbase is still respected and that the media bullshit trying to sell us as the most hated club is nonsense. The only club's attitudes who've changed towards us are those who've been dislodged by us and whose players we've bought, namely Arsenal, Everton, Spurs and Chelsea.
I don't even know why Everton are getting so upset, we've only bought one player off them and we paid an absolute fortune for him. Even now I'd not rate Lescott as being a £24m CB even after his performances this season which have been great (not his fault at all).

If someone had come along and offered us £20m for Richard Dunne when he was player of the year and captain I'd have said "Cheerio Dunnie, all the best" and took the money and ran.

I can understand Arsenal and Chelsea, and to a lesser degree Spurs, as it's made CL qualification that much harder, luckily for one of them Liverpool have imploded.
