city stated that the kit was well received on social media.

on every link I saw that kit, from Bluemoon rising to talk sport, it was panned by supporters, almost to a a man.

Not sure how that makes me plain wrong.

Well teams like Atleti and PSG managed to get what they want, so I don't see why we can't. Don't care if other teams are pussies and caved in, we shouldn't.

Listen I agree with you! That's why i just imagine we currently contractually bound right now to do what Nike wants. We probably have learned and I imagine when we structure a new deal, things like this consultation should be considered. We are on the same page.

There was no actual design or proposal available to comment on, therefore it was just a survey. A consultation would have had a rough draft that after comments could be refined, altered, left the same or completely scrapped and back to the drawing board depending on the merits of the comments. Unless the survey results were published it is hard to know to what extent they influenced the badge, if at all. I'm not saying the club didn't do a lot of PR stuff regarding the badge, I think it was brilliant from a marketing point of view, but to consult you need a tangible proposal. It certainly wasn't a vote on do we keep the current badge or not, it was clear it was going.

The statistics were published by the club. From memory the return to the round badge was favoured by around 75%, the ship got over 80%, the rivers got 70% and the rose 65%.

Whilst we are in a contract with Nike, I very much doubt it says we have to accept any old shite they give us – somebody at the club must have final say on a design.
