Is it as simple as their hubris still not allowing them to concede?The interesting question is why the PL are pushing this. There is no upside to acting unilaterally and there is no problem waiting a few more weeks. But there is a potentially damaging downside: that the PL get their vote carried and then have to nullify it if the tribunal comes down on City's side.
If I was being cynical and, granted, not just a little judgemental, I would say just pushing forward brazenly and then dealing with the consequences later seems to me to be an American trait rather than a British one, so I can't help thinking the American-owned clubs are still calling the shots here for some reason.
In any case, it's another poor decision by the PL imho.
They may still feel it is a bit of treachery by recent Panel members who now see UK law rather than PL decisions as the criterion they must observe.
They still see themselves as above the law especially the UK version which up to now they have simply ignored.
