City launch legal action against the Premier League | City win APT case (pg901)

Will fans of those teams be happy getting leathered each week? Someone will have to.
That was a part of my thoughts too, every single one of these teams is used to being the top dog or thinks they are entitled to be and what happens when that is taken away the infighting will be absolutely ridiculous, can you imagine the arguing between madrid and the rags, it will be ridiculous and the egos will be off the charts.

I think the ESL would be massive globally. Especially if they managed to get Bayern on board.
I'm sorry to say I have to agree . Currently staying with my brother and his wife in Luxembourg who have never had any interest in football
(still love him though) . Here it's free to view CL and some domestic leagues, not the PL, so now my s- in- l is suddenly the world's biggest fan /expert and fully engaged in the Nations League ffs . It's a tad irritating , as she is very opinionated , but if they can get interested then anyone can . I've suggested (tongue in cheek) on my next visit we go to DC Differdanger 03 (might do that anyway) but they are content with the telly. It's a new world .

I think it would be massive initially but i dont think the interest would be sustainable, like i have said previously the big games between these teams are a rarity so they garner interest when they become the norm the interest will go away its destruction through over saturation, it happens with alot of products take prime as the most recent example when it was rare people were fighting over it paying ridiculous prices per bottle then they flooded the market and now they cant give it away.

They would have to create small groups to try & dilute the shittiness. Maybe even like IPL where players move each year….

I’m feeling sick as I write it.

The ESL would only become a success if the best teams are in it and that assumes that there is no more lucrative alternative. If FIFA came up with, say, a Club World Cup, where the prize money dwarfed that of the ESL, even if the clubs didn't follow, the players soon would. And that would kill the ESL.

I see a golf-style schism heading football's way.

No expert on this by any means, but I wonder if "globalisation" of the game is more popular where there is less cultural investment in football. The more culturally invested, the less interested in change. I am thinking England, possibly Germany and further afield Argentina, Brazil, Mexico. I don't know the situation in Spain and Italy. But this "globalisation" is definitely being pushed by people who gave become rich though sports-manipulators from a country that has a completely domestic and un-ESM view of its major sports and little cultural attachment to football. The US, of course. The game will be better when these US owners are put back in their box, imho.

I think they would aim to focus on individual star players not teams . Fans would be loyal to the player who would move about so more viewers for different teams.

Can even see a time when tv viewers can vote on certain aspects of the TV offer on premium texts like talent shows . Best strip ? Controversial decisions ? Pundit A vs Pundit B .

I'll get my coat

Fair point but the Americans do have a knack of selling stuff and I think they'd surround each game with so much razzmatazz it'd draw people in . A bit like Sky but more .....nauseating
