You’re right mate but you’re looking at it as a fan, through the lens of romance and sportwhile i agree with you in theory, i think people really overestimate the rags and dippers popularity and underestimate the depth of hatred there is for them. if they went and formed an esl tomorrow it would be popular for a year maybe two but that would be it, the whole ethos of football and why it is so popular is that on any given day the big team might take a black eye from the little guy, remember when we were crap no day mattered as much as derby day because on that day we might just might do those fuckers who looked down on us for the rest of the season, an esl takes that away and i think would fall on its arse in a couple of years.
They do not do that, nor do they care about anyone who isn’t giving them money. And I can guarantee that a super league will make more money than we can imagine and they will chase that dollar till the day they die.
If the numbers add up they’ll do whatever it takes and if they can take care of a rival in the crossfire then so much the better

Seems they want to make sure its done right first time, over who is right in the argument tbh.
