City launch legal action against the Premier League | Club & PL reach settlement | Proceedings dropped (p1147)

If the PL is letting the previously blocked Ethiad and Abu Dhabi bank deals through, it will have a hard time changing course on deals like that for us in the future.
Yes, that’s a good point that hadn’t occurred to me. Thank you.
Sometimes being overly cynical can be a millstone round my neck

I would say that state-owned organisations from the same country as the owners (e.g. state airlines, banks, telecom companies) are no longer classified as Associated Parties under the APT rules.
Does that mean a Saudi greengrocer is about to give the barcodes a billion pounds sponsorship deal?

Disappointed the club agreed not to maje any further comment on this. The PL have dragged our name through mud and now it seems we have won this case v them, we should be calling out their illegal rules

I'm not sure we have...

'Won this case', rather than agreeing to make no further comment.

I think the reality is that the PL are going to view true market value or the definition of ‘related’ in a more realistic way if we agree not to bankrupt them by continuing our action.
Quid pro quo.
We’ve substantially got what we wanted without getting a ruling that the rules are unlawful.
@slbsn is that about right?
Interesting that the PL are now short of cash. I hope for their sake that we are cleared in the 130 case, otherwise they might be looking at more costs for our appeal. That would be Jarndyce v Jarndyce revisited.
Other clubs will miss their bonus payout. Tee-hee.

Looks like it. Fucking hell.
Quite the opposite. That was why the rules had to be amended last year.

What's been dropped is the claim we brought AFTER those amendments (which threw out mates rates shareholder loans) where we said "you've fucked it up again."

This does not prevent any other club who might be so minded to raise the same arguments.

Another soft signal?
I know how strident Khaldoon has been about this fight, but this settlement, to me, makes an agreed upon resolution fo the 115 seem more likely. Probably one where we take a slap on the wrist for the lack of cooperation charges and are cleared of the bigger stuff. Just a guess from an American lawyer.
