City let us down on Saturday

anyone else not really arsed?

Wouldn't say I'm not arsed but certainly it isn't the end of the world.

Anything can happen in an FA cup final. We lost and we have no divine right to win.

However I did feel sorry for the kids crying at Wembley.

Gutted cost me a fucking fortune to get me & my son over to wembley not only that the long hours of travel there and even worse on the way home but I can deal with that but the hardest part was havin to consol my 6 year old when Wigan scored he knew it was over and was devastated ,me like many other blues have been through the ups & downs of following city & would've thought them days was over but maybe it's no harm in all the new/young blues feeling the lows now & again like we have , sayin that that was possible the lowest point for me following city not the losing as much but seeing the little fella inconsolable over city losing .....CTWD

Its hard , isn't it??

Football can sometimes be unpredictable , even for them most consistent of teams , and unfortunately it's a fact that we aren't going to win EVERY final that we play in , no side is ...... but there is no excuse for players getting the chance to play in a final at Wembley putting in as abject a performance as we saw on Saturday , some didn't look fit , others didn't appear focused whatsoever , and some were a downright disgrace to the shirt.

The entire day appeared 'flat' as far as we were concerned , our players didn't even look happy getting off the team bus at the stadium before the game , you'd have honestly been forgiven if you'd thought that they were attending a funeral .... and the sullen mood quickly spread to the City sections of the stands , fans who had actually started off the game in good voice .

It was Wigans day , and almost from the word go i had a strong feeling that it would be ....... one or two of our players 'talked the talk' in the weeks leading up to this final , but unfortunately didn't 'walk the walk' when it it really mattered !

In over fifty years plus supporting City, that is the first time I have been ashamed of the team wearing the shirt.
Even the players who could be said to have played well individually like Kompany need to look at themselves in a mirror, he was captain but I saw no leadership when it was needed.

All the players went through the motions while waiting for someone else to put the effort in, its just a pity they could not have their paychecks ripped up in front of their faces at the final whistle to show them how much they were worth at that moment.

Talking rubbish mate ! Them same players won us the league a year ago today. we are entitled to an off day, jesus the over reaction is crazy...

City were sh*t but to pick out one player is ridiculous.

If you look at anyone then you choose the ones on £200k a week - players like Yaya, Silva, Aguero Tevez basically they were all rubish.

Like most other here though losing isn't as bad when you see the players put the effort in - just didn't see any closing down and not much leadership from our captain or Manager.

Agree with Blue 2112. The players should not need motivating, it should be a source of personal pride. How many fecking times do you hear players say "it was not a decision about the money. I came here to win things; for silverware"
If any of the team from Saturday have any pride in their bones they would admit that they did not perform to the best of their ability and promptly donate their weeks salary to charity.

Bit worrying though , isn't it ??

Players are supposed to raise their game in a Wembley cup final , as Wigans clearly did .... not have 'off days' ......... aside from a Tevez shot that hit the goalies legs and cleared the bar , and a Nasri effort , i'm struggling to think of anything else we actually created.

I watched the players disembark the team bus on tv before the game , and you'd have thought they were attending a funeral ..... yet around 40,000 City fans or so make the long and expensive trek there hoping for better than what they were ultimately given ....... the whole day just appeared 'flat.

That comment was made by Adrian Chiles when Tevez got off the team bus!

strangely enough that was my over riding emotion, I stayed and applauded Wigan getting the cup they fully deserved. I actually felt far worse leaving the ajax arena last autumn, more let down by the manager and players than on saturday, though that wore off quite quickly as we drove home.

For years we won f*ck all, I think I can accept getting to a final and losing. For the young blues out there, it will be good that they learn you don't always win something.
