City named “most innovative team in global sports”

Looking forward to reading about this on my BBC Sport app. How on earth do Arsenal make 3rd?!
Arsenal make third because they innovate as much as we do, they just have a different model
Arsenals goal (gotta love a quality pun) is to make as much money each and every year for their owners, therefore the focus of everything is short term gain, that includes least investment on the pitch to keep them in europe and maximising match day income (thats high ticket prices to me and you)
Our owners model is to maximise the value of the asset, presumably for sale in the future or as legacy (the legacy could be sportswashing or future leverage within society or something else which might be benign or something horrible , time will tell). This model means that success on the pitch is important and investment reflects this, as do low ticket prices to maintain support, fan interaction (which the current management are falling down on) and diversification to other markets.

I was puzzled by this thread title. Having checked the OP, it clearly means ‘the most innovative team behind the club's success’, rather than the team on the pitch. (As it happens, I agree with both evaluations). But definitely, the way the club is being run is brilliant, and what gives me most faith for the future.
The two things I don't much like are the increasing catering to the corporate crowd — I realise it's a money spinner, but I just don't much like it, as a joe ordinary type supporter. I could also do with less matchday razzamatazz. Just two grouses of mine.
It also explains the Arsenal ranking. From a purely capitalistic point of view, they are an enterprise that makes money (and to hell with titles).
