The animosity has been built up over the last few years both by the acolyte scouse loving media and LFC itself. They have to have a bogeyman to blame for their lack of achievement in comparison to us in the Premier League. In addition Klopp is weaponising the scouse fan base to give his team every conceivable advantage at Anfield and make it a fucking bearpit when we visit. It doesn't matter if you spout a load of lies as long as they are triggered and make it as hostile as possible. Good if it all ended when the final whistle goes but it fucking doesn't. Now they have helped create a growing monster. Both fanbases now absolutely fucking despise one another.
It isn't purely about direct sporting competitiveness between the two. There has always been some antagonism between Manchester and Liverpool, I remember it well from as far back as I remember. When we played them at Maine Road in 1978, my first Liverpool game, there was additional dislike in the atmosphere, I could feel it then even as a child. Of course the intervening decades we were a shit show and no threat to them football wise so that antagonism was replaced by contempt. Now that old antagonism has been fed and nurtured over the last 10 years with them seemingly getting every conceivable decision in tight games between us, unbelievingly so in some cases. Not happy with that though the trashing of our coach with the full consent of Merseyside Police and the drip drip of lies and allegations on social media and the constant parody of and the vilification of City as a club by their club, its owners, its management and its fucking fans, to be honest I've fucking had enough of it, who wouldn't have.
Unless there is an intervention this will likely inevitably lead to events causing injury, harm and even the deaths of fans. Then of course Klopp and his bum chums will Pontius Pilate their way to the side lines with hollow words of condemnation for the parties responsible. Something needs to be done and done now however they won't be the ones to instigate anything as of course none of this is their fault!
