City offer Sturridge new deal.

Less, cos Sturridge has much more potential and natural goalscorers like him are worth a lot of money.

I have already stated I hope he sticks around and makes it but I have to ask where are these Goals at the top level ? and for those who go back far enough do not forget Paul Moulden ! the comparisons between him and Studge are there for all to see and Moulden never really fulfilled it at that final step

Moulden wass one of the slowest players to ever grace a football field, though.

I've seen a pint of milk turn quicker than he could.

Moulden was a top goalscorer in the early stages of his career but never good enough to make it at the top level. Not strong enough and nowhere near quick enough. Sturridge is a good goalscorer but also has a great touch and awareness. He will definitely make it.

Agreed, at the top level. when making his mark in the youths and reserves the lad recieved pretty similar hype to Sturridge at that time. He's still in the Guiness book of records apparently (Moulden that is), But as you have rightly pointed out that last step seemed the one step too far and this is my concern with Studge. Until he has had a regular spell injury free and contributing consistently I just feel that £40k is over the top. We have all seen potential go unfulfilled before. Ive stated plenty of times I'd like him to stay and of course be succesfull with us, what blue wouldnt, but there seem to be some who IMO are holding Sturridge in a little too high a regard (agents, advisors etc) and a little reality check as to what he has actually achieved would not go amiss.

£40k a week? wtf? greedy little twat.........just hope he goes on to be worth it..........he does look a very good young player and i hope injuries dont ruin his career but thts a lot of money considering how many games hes played etc

I agree, and by all accounts Sturridge is a total arrogant twat. I just think he's a natural goalscorer who's gonna go to the top and bang em in for fun year upon year. I really want to see us get him signed up and hopefully he'l grow up a bit

For me it's about precidents, like with the RSC deal in jan, once we let one player/club take the piss everyone else will follow suit! He might turn out to be half decent but come on lads he's no world beater, I would let him go personally and no way he is going to chelsea, villa maybe but is that a step in the right direction for him?

its hard with these young lads innit?

i mean should we keep DS or let him walk?

you could have the same qaundry over Johnno

Id keep him personally, I think he shows a lot of promise, we should play him alongside bellamy, bollox to this height shit, them two with robbo just behind them....tidy.

It ALL boils down to the cost benefit analysis to City. Unless he has a career threatening injury, the millions they pay to keep him as quality cover, and perhaps more, will get paid back IF/WHEN he moves on. Not keeping your best prospects under contract is a crime and City are going to be forced to pay the costs of that crime on this occasion.

Hopefully, his promise becomes a reality, because with Boj, Bellamy, Sturridge, Robinho and possibly even Jo as frontline players, we have more options than most and plenty of left footers, which are ALWAYS difficult for right footed defenders to handle.

We should offer him 50,000 a week and then, as soon as he signs, sell him to Chelski for 15 million. Personally I rate the potential of Jo much higher than Sturridge from what I have seen of him so far.

I like Danny & I hope he signs. However, if these reports of a more than generous offer are true and he doesn't sign then we should fcuk him off without a doubt.
