Looking for a pub in or near Urmston that is either Blue or Neutral - will be watching the derby with 3 mates who support Spurs, Newcastle and Bolton, so they arent bothered where we watch - I'd prefer it to be blue, but tbh as long as it isnt full of reds I'm happy!

Go in a place full of rags, drop your pants and helicopter for 5 minutes when the fifth goal goes in

It’s a good while since I’ve lived there but without any more recent recommendations, I’d try The Nelson.

It’s only a couple of minutes walk from the town centre but it’s far enough off the beaten track that it’s more of a locals pub than full of weekend pissheads. I’ve no idea if it’s considered a City, United or neither pub. But I’ve watched City games in there in the past and there were plenty of blues in.

The Urmston aint or was not neutral, me and my brother had a laugh in there though after City beat Barnsley 2-0 in the FA Cup back in 93. The rag fans in there watching the highlights of the game on Match of The Day could not work out why, what would have been City's 3rd was disalowed. Won quite a few pints off them at pool. Was a good night. United lost the 2-1 the following day to Sheff United.

It is traditionally a rag area, though I’m sure theres more than a a few blues knocking about these days
A local rather than the centre as suggested is probably the way to go

Urmston is a lovely little town - during the day.
At night it’s a mix of lovely independent restaurants, some of those modern “craft brewery” type bars (which are fine to be fair), plus a Wetherspoons, and a 20 somethings binge bar.
As others have said, avoid the centre for watching the match, it will kick off guaranteed, as it does every derby day.
The Nelson might be a good shout or you could try the Bird I’th hand at the end of Flixton road.
Just keep your wits about you and if it kicks off stay out of it and you’ll be fine mate.
