City players - Counties of England

Tony Book from Devon. Or was it Somerset? Have City ever had a Cornishman play for them?
But not many bother about counties today. Traveling round the country back before the motorways you got signs by the roadside saying " entering Worcestershire" or whatever but they're in the past now.

Yer still get the county signs when driving on the motorway. Not "You are now entering the Soviet and Socialist Republic of Cheshire', just 'Cheshire'!

Driving up the M1 from London it always crosses my mind to think, after coming out of Northamptonshire "Thank Fuck we're in Leicesteshire, thank fuck we're in Nottinghamshire, Thank fuck we're out of Nottinghamshire, Thank Fuck we're in Lancashire. Aaah, the Milnrow turnoff!!
