I think you've misunderstood this thread. EVERYBODY liked Van Buyten. But the way in which he has built up a legendary status on Bluemoon, to the extent that people still say we should sign him, is laughable.

Not sure whether anyone really disliked him but one that always stands out for me in such conversations is Andy Hill.

He was a solid right back who got forward and supported the attack well.

When you think about it, right back has been a problem position of ours since Tony Book departed the role. Andy Hill was actually one of the more effective ones since.

Whether that is merely a sad indicment on the right backs over the years, I don't know!

joey barton was loved by everyone at city at one point. he used to be the only player with passion and he would get the crowd going. even tho hes a tool i still have a lot of respect for the way he gave it his all with city. he just got misguided along the way.
