City players YOU thought were good

Gelson, showed a lot of promise but then the crowd got on his back and he wants out.

Bianchi, obviously

David Sommeil, shame he lost his head a bit and ended up on loan in return for Van Buyten.

Berti.

Under Pearce, nearly all the players looked worse than they actually were. I think he could have turned the 1970 Brazil team into pub standard, no-hopers. Stephen Jordan looked great when he first broke into the first team but went backwards at the speed of light.

One player I really thought could have been great under the right manager was Lee Croft. He had pace and worked hard. Sadly looks like he'll be another one in League 1 next season.

I really liked Gareth Taylor. I used to work a lot of Saturdays he just seemed to score when I was at the Ground. I liked Granville better than the far more popular Danny Tiatto and going back earlier I liked Roger Palmer and ( Drum Roll Please) the current Manager of Bolton, Gary Megson.

Lee Croft - thought he was one of the better of the acaemy products at the time (Flood, BWP, Miller, Jordan) but obviously not as he's probably worst off now.

Lucien Mettomo - always thought he was a decent defender who never really got his chance.

Michael Ball - helped keep us up when he first came and had an ok second season but hasn't been upto it this season.

Darius Vassell - very good when he played up front with Cole, but all downhill from there.

Terry Cooke - used to love him in division 2, but couldn't hack it in the leagues above.

Andy Morrison - for me the real reason we got out of division 2 but just like Cooke, didn't make the grade in the higher divisions.

Geovanni - should have had far more chances than he got.
