City post record revenues of £473.4million for 16/17

really excellent. Blues should have a good look at the full report on the web site. The club does this very well every year, pulling together so many things for us to be proud of in their report. Good stories round CitC, Digital, Staff advocacy (it seems CFC is an excellent place to work), Environmental management - things that you wouldn't normally hear about. Our chairman just oozes class - pays tribute to the past and City's proud history whilst spelling out just how far we have come in the last 10 years. Wonderful stuff.

Decent bump in commercial revenues. I don't think we announced any major deals last season. We signed lots of smaller partnerships though. Nexen Tire deal kicked in this summer so will be in 17/18 accounts.

Almost £0.5bn in revenues despite having piss poor kit deal (£12m)

Manchester City have announced record revenues of £473.4 million for 2016-17 and an annual profit for the third consecutive year of £1.1 million over a 13-month period. The club have zero debts.

Khaldoon: "The 2016-17 season was something of a contradiction. No silverware was won by our first team and in which we finished third in the Premier League, only securing our Champions League position relatively late. Yet, at the same time, this was also a season of promise."

Khaldoon: "The ongoing development of Phil Foden and Brahim Diaz in particular, continues to be encouraging and our commitment to nurture our own talent remains a central pillar for the Club’s long-term sustainability."

We've managed to assemble the most valuable squad in Europe and the best team in the Premier League, whilst recording a profit.

That is fucking colossal leadership.

Long may it continue.
