City post record revenues of £473.4million for 16/17

I think it’s only fair we, the fans, ought to get some kind of ‘loyalty’ Xmas bonus on the back of this. These profits wouldn’t have been possible without me...I mean, us.
You will get your loyalty bonus in May. It' called the Premier league title. No sweat.

How does that lower profit affect us from an FFP/spending viewpoint, both in terms of what we've already spent and what we intend to spend next summer? Wasn't the estimated amortised amount for this summer's splurge about £30m?
Don't think it matters much to be honest. For one thing FFP is based on a rolling 3-yr period plus we can add back about £25-30m to that bottom line figure for each of the last 3 years. So our accumulated FFP profit is probably over £100m at this point.

In addition, I reckon our spending this summer, which will go in the next accounts in 12 months time, was cash neutral in terms of the bottom line when the wages of the outgoing players are taken into account. But we will probably have a substantial player trading profit to go on top of that. Maybe £50m or more.

Revenue is higher than the sub-£450m I expected but the net profit is a lot lower than the £28m I estimated. I'll have a good look at the accounts and report back.

It's a 13 month accounting period and the final month will have lots of expense in it, especially wages, and presumably far less revenue than one where the team is playing.

Edit: should have read whole thread before replying.

Running away with the league
Typical bloody City, no class. Bring back Swales.

Edit. Not to mention the best bloody manager we've ever had.

Seriously? It’s your opinion but if it was the rags it would be “record turnover” and some other positive in the tag line

It's not a made up headline. It's a quote from the Chairman and is in the article and is in the headline in quotes. The fact that he is saying we have a long way to go should send chills down the spines of the rag masses. If he had written record turnover then not many would have batted an eyelid imo. As the headline stands they will read it and then weep.
