San Diego and Nashville are fantastic places to visit whatever the football is like

How very true .Anyone who chooses a team is a plastic fan, as team identification is part of your socialisation and not a conscious decision in any way for real fans.
The problem is plastic fans feel entitled to strip mine the culture of real fans by pretending to support clubs they have no association with, and clubs encourage it in order to fleece the plastics.
A pretend game in america is something reel fans would ignore mostly.
What, you would actually enjoy watching these matches?
I understand that it's a chance for you to watch City live but you aren't really watching the players perform at their best.
I'd rather fly over to Manchester and watch a competitive match with actual meaning than a marketing exercise.
I enjoy NHL, and plan to visit NYC soon to catch a Rangers game.
However if they came over here to play in some meaningless friendly match I wouldn't go.
Are you from NYC? Bit of a difference between watching the team you grew up watching standing on the Kippax and some foreign team you've latched onto for some reason.
Plus, how else would I have been able to see this?
Why do you ask if I'm from NYC?
