My wife is expecting our first baby at the end of May and, although we don't know if it will be a boy or a girl, we have recently been thinking of potential baby names. If City win the prem for the first time in 44 years I would like the baby to have a name (or maybe middle name) that somehow commemorates the occasion.

However, I am all too aware that if the baby is named Roberto and then Bobby is sacked to make way for the special one then I would look like a right tit. Likewise if he was called Joe/Joleon/Vinnie/Gael/Micah/Kolo/Yaya/Nigel/Gareth/David/Samir/James/Adam/Sergio/Edin or Sergio. Imagine how much you'd despise your kid who you called Carlos only last year!!?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

How about, (middle name) Manchester City 2011/12 premiership winners...

Or Dave We're Still Here Ewing X?

This is absolutely true, a mate of mine's dad is a massive blue, and so gave my mate a fitting name... Michael Colin Francis Conway. Tribute to 3 of our most favourite sons and the best initials you could ever want. He probably doen't post on here...he turned out a rag unfortunately. Waste.

If you are an Only Fools and Horses fan call it Dave (Silva)... after Rodney (Marsh). Kills 2 birds with 1 stone :)

You could name after a city legend...

However, Carlos was ugly and unloyal before he came to City, would you have really named the baby after him, even after all the goals?

City have a number of model professionals that have already done a great service for our cause. No matter what happens in the future I would wish them the very best.

E.g Joe Hart (you could have a girls version too - Jo, Joanna), David (good strong name!) Silva, Micah is a good modern name and I think he will become a City legend.

-- Mon Feb 20, 2012 10:43 am --

Ha ha, you could name him/her Georgi after Kinkladze, especially if the kid is a good runner when start toddling.... ;-)

oh and whatever happens, there is nothing wrong with Roberto... If he goes I will always remember him for the FA Cup and my best couple of seasons as a city supporter (except for the 2-2 Gillingham and Keegan/Goater getting us back to the premiership)

while I think about it, Shaun is a good name too....

-- Mon Feb 20, 2012 10:51 am --

Actually, there was a girl at school with me who had a really nice name, its a small link to city if its a girl:

Cheymoon (Prounounced Shey-moon)

it would be perfect if we still had a certain villa keeper, lol.
