City round the world with Will Greenwood

You know, these videos are making me change my attitude.
I've been to plenty of games where there have been obvious 'tourist' supporters with their cameras / phones / ipads etc and I've sighed and shook my head with the rest of the City fans around me, but the truth is, I make a lot of assumptions about such people.
I assume they are all day trippers who aren't City fans, they are just experience Premier League in some 'day out' type manner, and I'm wrong to assume that.
For all I know, it really might be a once in a lifetime opportunity to watch City playing live, and they want to take photos and do the 360deg panning thing. I know it's irritating during the actual match, but it's hard to put yourself in their shoes - taking in the atmosphere for the very first time etc, and all we do is roll our eyes and make fun of them.
I want City fans (wherever they are from) to come to City and leave having confirmed we ARE a fantastic club to support, not leave feeling mocked and unwelcome. So I'm going to try and cut them a lot more slack.
Seeing them struggle to find their seat with a ticket in their hand shouldn't be a signal for us to start moaning at them. It should be a signal to say 'Welcome to Manchester my friend, and you made the right choice, and you're very welcome'.

I feel chuffed to bits seeing fans in Indonesia singing the songs we sing, wearing some of the older shirts, and doing their bit to support us. There was a time when Manchester was synonymous with United when abroad. That's no longer the case. I for one, am glad and proud of that.

Top post. With the expanded stadium to fill we should make overseas fans welcome. Imagine the improved atmosphere with a load of Indonesian fans in the East Stand or the Colin Bell.

Please make me welcome on Saturday if you see me with a paper ticket................I have got my front row seat back as they finished the work early (or something) but my new season card won't be ready for the Watford game so they've sent me a paper ticket. Therefore I am NOT a tourist/JCL but a genuine old timer (in more ways than one!!!)

So do not berate me, do not laugh at me, do not point me out PLEASE. I'm genuine City............... The boys in Blue never give in, they fight to the end!! :-)

Nothing worse than locals hogging all the seats!

Enjoyed them videos. A lays had great respect for those fans who follow is from afar especially those who went against the grain and supported us when we weren't so high profile.
On a similar note wonder if anyone remembers in late 80's early 90s granada/ northwest tonight did a piece on a Scandinavian bloke who gave up his life in homeland sold everything so he could live in a bedsit in fallowfield and follow city?

It gets to me every time, these pesky locals are a flaming nuisance!! Plus I bet they take selfies as well.

I spotted someone in a City shirt in Brighton yesterday, and was suprised. Never mind Jakarta!

I've actually seen a couple of people in City polo shirts where in live in Herts recently. Completely unprecedented.

Just watched the latest video and it's brilliant. Those Indonesian fans are mental. So passionate and the fact they travel so far for these meetings is great. Would be great if a group of them came over to see a match.
