CITY: SHOWSEC, Atmosphere, & Blatant Bullying.

It's fair to say nobody has come up with a valid reason or explanation why away fans, including us, are allowed to stand throughout matches without any hassle from the club/s and Showsec/stewards. The standing law/rule applies to all football fans, and not just home fans.

I'm sure you remember fans from across Europe and the UK standing on level 2 and now level 3. Hanging over the front of the 2nd and 3 tiers, jumping up and down, giving it to City fans below, etc. Not one club official, showsec steward, or police officer has intervened on numerous occasions. Let's be honest, why would they? They aren't going to try and make 3000 away fans sit down. Imagine trying to do that on derby day. Ha! :-) They've all given up. GIVEN UP!! Even the pointless "please sit down" announcements have stopped. Basically the away fans have won. They have stuck two fingers up to the authorities, to the pl, to the police, and to the clubs, and told and shown them in public that we are standing whether you like it or not. So the home fans see that, and what do the do? Bingo! Because if it's OK for the away fans to stand, *it must be OK for the home fans to stand*. After all, the same law applies to every football fan. Or it doesn't, as what we're currently seeing is being played out.

Let's be honest. City are doing nothing more than trying to show the authorities, the council, the H&S, the PL, etc, that they are trying to make the fans sit down. Pulling out a few fans every home game is a piecemeal gesture. Filling out a few matchday report forms is a piecemeal gesture. But it's City's proof that they are trying to do something about fans standing. And they are trying to comply with the regulations. Most of us work for companies. Most companies have internal or external audits. You see the managers panicing and making sure all the forms are filled in correctly and are up to date before the audit. City are no different. It's not City's fault to an extent, it's society. It's the PC mob gone mad. They've been going mad for years on football fans. Next they'll be telling us to wear a blue high viz next season.

The same scenario will play out against Spurs. Him above who's in-charge of matchday security at City will pass a message down the food chain. Eventually is will reach the showsec supervisor. He or she will advise and give instructions to the showsec canon fodder and send them into battle. During the 90 minute battle they will pull out as many City fans as they can. At the final whistle reports will be completed to cover their arses, and the information of who the supporters are and what happened will be sent to him above to inspect and to file. Job done!

Block 109 against Spurs. Showsec V City fans.

The pipes or peace? Let's hope so, ah City! ;-)

100 % agree .

Oh Dear.
I think he's right.
Next home game up in 314 I will be conducting my own on site risk assessment and providing the club with the required Method Statement outlining how I can stand up and sing safely. Obviously the risk alters if and when a goal is scored but I reckon I can still do this in a safe manner without killing myself or anyone around me.
During your risk assessment please include suggestions as to which times might lead to increased risk. Obviously this would be during the normal course of a game rather than an emergency.
So it could be the warm up, Vince lasting more than five minutes without a recurrence of one of his many injuries, Bravo making a save etc. Or it could be a goal being scored by our blue-shirted heroes: People jumping up and down and going bug-shit etc. And which one have the ground safety people said they would never clamp down on?

Showsec have 'target measures'' to remove people.. I was sat opposite a couple of them on the tram who had been working at the MEN arena at a concert who were spouting off (very professional I know) on the way home that they had only managed to turf a couple of people out of the gig each and they they would be asked questions from their line manager when if ge found out....They weren't the sharpest tools in the box but if this is true then thats scandalous

We don't really know do we. Not doubting your story.

We'll find out against Spurs.

Those in-charge of the club must have either read this thread, or got feedback of it from the City people who monitor BM. If they have taken any notice of this thread, it will be evident against Spurs.

And let's be honest, if City or Showsec think City fans are going to stay seated for that match, especially if we are winning, they must have a screw loose.
