CITY: SHOWSEC, Atmosphere, & Blatant Bullying.

109 has been a battle ground for years, if you're in there by now to make life easier wouldn't it have been better to relocate to the singing part? I know I'll get the 'i've been at this spot since 1900 etc' but they're not going to stop chucking fans out.

I moved from 117 which had no issues to 315 when level 3 opened on the basis of cost. I was hoping we'd be allowed to stand up there but every game it's getting more hairy and someone is going to get a thumping soon.

The bullshit the club use for giving 109 grief is that as its on the side others in block 108 can't see. Tell you what, people wandering down the isles fans/Showsec and fannying about are a nightmare when I've been moved for cup games to the low 100's blocks over the years.

The issue in 314/315 has only really kicked off this season. As its behind the net we're not blocking anyone in another blocks view, from talking to fans around me the vast majority moved to 314/315 to vocally 'take on' the aways up there. There's no reason this block and a half can't stand.

I realise any fan trying to sit down would be pissed off if 80% plus are stood but a bit like 109 maybe 109 standers and 315 wanna be sitters should swop seats.

I know it's not that easy but surely it's all being made much too hard at the moment.

Why doesn't someone email the club and then post the reply. No point in moaning on here and then not do anything. I am sure the club monitor this and other forums but surely the correct thing to do is to write to the club and ask them to explain the situation. Why can away fans stand in level two and three but homes fans can't being a classic example.

The clubs response is that they receive the most complaints about standing from home fans.

They don't really care what away fans say I assume.

Well there's no block 108 it doesn't exist, but 109 standing blocks nobodies view,I'm towards the back of 109 and as far back as I can remember certainly after first season or two we've stood, the vast majority in there seem to want to stand, those who prefer to sit have moved elsewhere in the stadium,Why the club have decided that a blind eye is turned elsewhere but are making this stand a battle ground I've no idea. Not much point in manager calling for atmosphere from the fans while Showsec are having supporters chucked out.

Sorry for your experience yesterday but I can assure you I had a season ticket there for five years and apart from the Derby, it was a seated block and I was back in the middle of row L until May 2014 when I moved abroad.
It was seated when we moved in which was around 2007. I'm on the back row and we were often told to sit down, even though we weren't obstructing anyone behind us.

I've never been in 109 or 108 ;) as when my S/T was on level 1 I was on the other side of the aways but numerous posters on here have cited the view from the adjourning block as to why the club keep hassling standers.

What could be interesting is the last game of the season if there's loads of fans that pissed off they're not going to renew. You can't get banned if you're not coming back anyway.

We all know it's the club. And Showsec's staff are sent in to be the cannon fodder. While their paymasters look on from the directors box.

But it's the double standards that irk the fans. Specific Showsec stewards will target individual fans, they will harras them, then drag them out en-masse, along with other City stewards, and the Police. While this is going on other fans are still standing in tbe same isle, and throughout the block. Sorry, but what the f*** is all that about!?

And let's be honest, when some of Showsec put on that yellow jacket, they suddenly think they are above the law, regardless of what they are told. And think they can behave how they want, protected by the club and the Police.

Not only that, there have been numerous incidents of Showsec over stepping their remit, forceably dragging fans out, dragging them and leadng them up the steps, then gathering around those fans on the concourse(I've seen it myself), intimidating them, taking their season tickets off them, and marching them out of the ground.

If any fan behaved that towards a Showsec steward, they would be arrested.

One day all it will take is for one fan to sue the club, showsec, the steward/s involved, and the Police. Then that will open a floogate of claims. It will happen.
Have to agree, the police were perfectly fine yesterday and even a little embarrassed by the whole ridiculous situation, the Showsec staff were rude and occasionally aggressive with one repeatedly shouting "Film them, film them" whilst my Dad was simply asking why they were removing them on the say so of one steward, when there were so many witnesses who could confirm they sat when they were asked to.
Simply disgraceful this. Whats needed for a decent atmosphere is groups/families being together - much more likely to generate some noise. Whats the point of managers/players asking for more support when fans who are exactly what the club needs (instead of the half and half scarve wearing, photo taking, Ipad gazers they seem to prefer) are treated like this ? Have you approached the club ?
not contacted the club yet no. The police were fine. Showsec were arrogant, smug and downright rude to people who deserved their respect. One of them kept saying "film this, film this" as though my parents might turn violent!!! They were simply being asked for a straight forward answer as to what was going on

Watching from the back of 107, it looked like a complaint had been made from the rear of 109. Supporters at the rear of 109 had been arguing with 3 stewards partway through the first half, there was a mass meeting Showsec, safety stewards, police and a chap in dark suit with beard on the disabled access ramp. The meeting continued on the concourse and shortly after further stewards and police arrived to undertake the ejection of the supporter(s) nearer the front of 109.

Make your own conclusions but I believe the stewards had received complaints about standing restricting the view of some supporters to rear of 109, the chap in the suit was called and he made decision to eject.
