Wherever I lay my hat that's my home
Been meaning to get this off my chest for a while. Some of the songs we sing make no sense and irritate me.

  • David Silva NEVER played at Maine Road, so couldn't have been the master of it
  • We've won 8 PL titles so clearly we HAVE won quite a few games home and away.
  • As much as we like to believe otherwise, Ryan Giggs probably HAS a birth certificate but doesn't have AIDS.
  • And I don't recall any City fans being found dead in the Kippax surrounded by ten red bastards.
However I will accept that we ARE currently the best team in the land and all the world.

At times it really feels like we never win - I’m fine with that.

Gigggs one, you’re just speculating. Our song has at least 50% odds of being correct

Even if you’re not aware of that (Kippax) it doesn’t mean it’s not true

on the Dave Silva one you may have a point

‘If I die on Kippax Street’ is a Rag song anyway.

Our version should be something like ‘if I die on Warwick Road’, ‘if I die on Matt Busby Way’ or ‘if I die in the Stretford End’

If I die on Matt Busby Way
Oh oOAh
If I die on Matt Busby Way
Oh oh
If I die on Matt Busby Way
There’d be ten red bastards where I lay

Oh oah oah oawoh

City tearing cockneys apart again when we play anyone remotely close to London
That one bugs me when we play Crystal Palace because they aren’t Cockneys.

But for all the other clubs we change ‘Cockneys’ to:
‘Scousers’
‘Brummies’
‘Goerdies’
…to fit whoever we’re tearing apart.

“We are not really here just like a fan of the invisible man”

This is wrong on so many levels.

1. We are here, that’s why we’re singing it.
2. The invisible man is also here. You just can’t see him. Invisible does not mean “not present”.
3. It’s not even a comparison with the invisible man himself, it’s a comparison with a fan of his. Being a fan of the invisible man has no bearing on whether you are there or not. If the fan of the invisible man is here, it’s pretty fucking pointless singing we’re not here just like him.
4. We’re not really here is a nonsense anyway. We either are here or we’re not. This is binary. There is no halfway house where it seems that we are here but we aren’t really.

How many times during the Covid season did you hear us singing “we’re not really here?” None, because we weren’t there!
