IIRC the fosters used to be £3.60 so should now be £3.40. The heineken was £4.00 a pop I think so should be £3.80, but I'm not 100% on those. No doubt people will whinge cos they're not free but city square will probably still take precedence over mary d's for me most times next season.
Not the price it's the (lack of ) quality that prevents me from having a beer at the stadium.
They have a tie-in with Heineken Breweries who also supply Fozdoz and Bulmers but they also have some brands worth drinking but we never see those.
Think I'll stick with a few pints in town and a taxi to Eastlands. Works out about the same.

£3.80 for a pint of Heineken eh, what an absolute bargain!!

They'd have to start by selling some decent beer before I step in there, Is the Bitter alternative still John Smiths? I mean that is soooooooo nice isn't it!

Remember when going to the game was well, going to the game?
Now we have 'celebrities' mooching about with mic's and cameras, jugglers and facepainters. The amount of kids with nintendo's taking up seats is incredible. A cheese fest of the highest order.

I remember WALKING from northenden down prinny parkway in decent weather or on one of the 101/103/105/108/109 buses and getting off and walking down parkside with my mates. Then after navigating our way through the passages, finally getting a glimpse of the main stand's entrance and the feeling of 'belonging'. Now with all this cheesiness it's like going to the trafford centre with a kickabout thrown in for the dads, so they don't get board.

CHEESE

couldn't agree any more Glen, our "matchday experience" is somewhat piss-poor IMO. It shit overpriced food and shit overpriced drinks in a largely atmosphere free stadium, its the same as every other premier league ground most of the time. I hate the way football has gone, the character has been taken out of it and replaced by pristine white plastic crap. I just can't stop going though.....especially as now we're actually good!

Oh yeh me and my mates still have a good booze up too.

That's what I tend to do on weeknights or saturdays. Sundays when the buses aren't so good I tend to get a lift straight to the ground and drink around there. The way I see it, the beer in City Square is no better or worse than that in mary d's, it's about 20p dearer per pint but you get all the team news first and it ain't too cramped, plus it's quick getting served. Hugh ferris doesn't bother me I just have a drink and chat with my mates whilst he's going on in the background.

At £3.80 a pint , Natalie Pike's pre match entertainment . had better involve something other than playing records ;)[/quote

And, of course, City Square is all about entertainment so we’ve added a touch of glamour to our production team in the form of new presenter Natalie Pike who will be working alongside Hugh Ferris and Fanzone Danny.

You lucky bastard Danny...
