Don't want to clog up the board but have we ever let fans in for free? a rag's just said to me that City were giving free tickets away for the game against the team from the Faroe Islands.

That was the game played at Barnsley on a pissing down night. I paid for my ticket and I never heard of anyone getting a freebie.

As a total outsider here, Judging from this map, most city fans seem to be on the right hand side of manchester, so are more united fans from the left hand side? Or do most people from wigan and bolton just stick to their own sides and dont support either united or city? or is rugby league a big factor in those parts of manchester?
I don't think Wigan and Bolton people class themselves as coming from Manchester any more than people from other towns a similar distance away. They identify themselves more as being from Lancashire rather than GM. I've seen a few articles and surveys that show that City fans are more numerous in the South and East and United in the North and West. Here's the result of one of them that illustrates that. I think each blob shows who's fans are in the majority for a particular postcode area.

I don't see Singapore on that map.

I wonder how many people will be relocating from L2?

If there is only going to be the South Stand developed there won't be too many spare seats for them.

The planning commission is for the next 3 years. It'll probably be started this time in 2 years.
Hope so, but I think if we dont sell out at 56,000 it may not get built at all.

Why wouldn't it sell out? We average 47000 and have 6000 on the paid season ticket waiting list.
Not sating it wouldn't but I guess the club want to have a look at first before making final decision or it would have been a lot cheaper for them to do both sides at the same time.

The planning permission is for ever, allowing both ends to be done together or in phases. They just need to make a start within 3 years, i.e. so long as they've done something like dig a hole for foundations, that condition is satisfied, so they can do phase 1 first but can do phase 2 whenever they like or not at all.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think it would be significantly cheaper to do both ends at the same time?

Disappointed that it's only the South Stand initially (OS) but I'm sure that the rest will be built before the end of the decade.

It just seems logical, and mentioned on here a few times that's all.
