City to expand Etihad to 62,000?

According to Chris Bailey on twitter, there was a delay in placing that wording on the OS due to the wording...not much to go on!

They have really started the South Stand first anyway (and like others have mentioned on here, you could probably see it as two separate projects).
It isn't going to look as good one stand expanded only, but it's only a matter of time before they'll start the north stand. I get the impression the club/ADUG don't want to appear flashy and prefer to be seen as ever pragmatic hence 'appearing' to be doing things one thing at a time (and community/college/training academy given the initial high priority).

I'm sure the club know what they are doing. However personally I'm surprised, with almost 6000 on the waiting list for s/c and people moving from level 2, I think by 2015 we will be selling out every game again at 54,000. I thought doing both would give a bit of slack to grow into.

Would I be right in thinking that doing the south stand first gives the club time to think about options for city square and the club shop?

Do we own the ground used as a car park behind the east stand for instance?

City square has proved a brilliant idea and im sure the club dont want to decrease its size when more people attending would point to a need to increase and develop size.

not so many L2's will move now - the blocks around me in 201 north of the centre line have been saved for a year or two from astronomic seasoncard prices

I predict he'll get to 54,000 posts, stop for a couple of seasons, then aim to get to 62,000 as quickly as possible.

Are we still planning on spreading the away fans out over the 3 tiers in the South stand? Good idea if so as it would dilute a lot of the singing. I'd like us to stick a singing section up in the third tier too.

I asked because I dont fucking know obviously and wondered why it wasnt used to its potential.
