This proves two things for me.

1) Our set plays are/were dire.
I was sick of seeing corners float into the hands of the oppo's goalie this season.

2) We are/were too naive in conning the officials.

Exactly what I was thinking.

And 3) No more set piece excuses for Kolarov!

I agree our set plays are on the whole dire and hopefully they will improve under a new manager and coach.I hope our energy and speed/zip improves as well and they get Ya Ya to a doctor, to see if he was bit by one of those flies that drain your energy while in Africa,he had a full week's rest before the cup final yet played like he had about one hours kip in a week!

IF......a small but huge word......we had converted a fraction of the chances we created in almost every game we would have still probably retained the title. The rags had the perfect season last year.Almost every deflection and flick seemed to go their way and they won games they should have drawn or lost.On the whole injuries, particularly to RVP were kind to them to.Fergiescum knew all this and that us and Chelsea would strengthen in the summer and not make the same mistakes, which is why he decided to do one and go out a winner.

Two words:

'Straws' and 'clutching'.

Last season we were easily the best at scoring from corners / set pieces, so I don't know where we've gone wrong this time around.

Get the fuck in there! When's the parade?

Postponed indefinitely because the open-top bus couldn't take corners and was last seen heading for Birmingham.

These figures confirm what we all know. United are brilliant from set pieces (and crosses in general) and we are poor. It was a problem all season. How bad are our corners? Our best corner taker is Tevez (Not Silva!) and that says it all. How many wasted passes from the flanks (Kolarov, Milner, Clichy)
If we were just average at delivering a cross we would have walked the title. I am sure Pellegrini will correct that. We need a couple of decent wide players.

Stretford Rangers really do rely on decisions going for them.
Or they're good at converting the ones they get.

Our corners are almost always dreadful. How many of our free kicks that are crossed in are just collected by the keeper, headed away or over hit out of play? How many free kicks do we ever score from?

These sort of stats are meaningless. They assume that if you remove one facet of a game everything else stays the same.
