I don't think you can play other Premiership teams in pre-season, it's a rule.

Maybe you cant here (Charity Shield aside), but off the top of my head in Asia, Newcastle have played Spurs, Liverpool have played Pompey, and I think we were in a competition with Everton and Bolton a few years ago. It was when Joey Barton had that fight with an Everton fan in the hotel and Dunney broke his ankle kicking the wall.... something like that anyway.

I'm not sure about this rule also, but to be clear, the competition you're talking about is the "Premier League Asia Trophy" and as the name suggests, it's organised by the PL itself and thus would count as an exception to this rule since no-one in their right minds would place restrictions on themselves when attempting to limit others instead.

Perhaps but I dont see them intervening to stop us playing U****d as they want to expand the PL brand. I should probably make it clear that I personally dont think we will play them, but I dont think there would be any rules preventing it.

i dont think its a rule that we dont play prem clubs pre season, i thought we play small clubs to give them money...anyway we played spurs in new jersey last year but as i said united are all mapped out heres there full schedule.. 13th july, new eng rev in boston..... 20th july seattle sound in seattle..... 23rd july chicago fire in chicago......27th july MLS all stars in new jersey... and 30th july barcelona in washington dc... so i cant see where they would fit city in
