Not impressed at all with Fernadinho. Not impressed at all with Negredo, he reminds me of Grant Holt. Navas did fuck all. Jovetic just fouled people. Looks lik money well spent not.

Disturbed to see Kompany so poor, dreadful mistakes and bad postioning. Hart needs selling as he has gone backwards and cant stop a shot. Zabba was rubbish attacking and worse defending.

If Pellegrini lasts the season i will be astonished.
...and Aguero did fuck all.

As a said eveythime , city needs a world class players like di Maria and higuain but management ignored three top class players and spend money on class players but not top class players, city still have a chance to buy di Maria and Garay atleast, buy these 2 and kicked Lescott and korolov from the team and tell dzeko you are class player but not top class and you still need to prove it, and please change your attitude and work with the team. Same as with negredo and nasri, you people need to prove your worth and class , contribute your worth in the team if not then get out, mr manager don't waste city money on players like willian, be precise and got for di Maria, Gary , and coentroa and all problem will be resolved.

Don't forget this is premier league, not Spanish league and you can afford to beaten like that, England is another world of football and you need adapt as quick as you can.... You can not ignore that fact that Argentinian players have class and talent and every team like to have them, not like city kicked tevez , ignore higuain and di Maria Garay and going for negredo and jovetic, no one have that class like tevez higuain and aguero have, they have proved their class for both clubs and International.

It's a easy equation
Di Maria + Garay + coentroa = problem resolved .

After that city will have 4 centre back kompany Garay nastastic and boyota

Top class player
Di Maria silva yaya Ageuro kompany hart

Class player
Dzeko nasri navas coentroa clichy Garay

Player need to prove
Fernandinho jovetic rodwel Garcia negredo
oh stfu

Might as well put a couple of quid on us going down while you're at it. Some bookies are offering 5000/1.

Just re-mortgaged the house and gave my money to that bookie. I'm expecting us to be sent down just before christmas.

As soon as I saw the starting lineup I just hoped that it was only the preseason lineup and that it will never be used in practice. Lack of creativity in that first 11. There will almost always be lack of creativity when Negredo and Dzeko play at the same time. Instead, one of the should play, paired with Jovetic or Aguero.

I would also say that Arsenal are way stronger than people think. Not just based on this game, but they are the only top team which maintained stability from the last year. This will help them to start the season strong and I predict they will be top 2 (along with City).

Clichy had a bad game, by the way, defensively. I like the guy, I just feel we rarely discuss his mistakes while Kolarov's are exaggerated. Good decision though, by Pells, not to play AK in this game because him vs Walcott is a mismatch. He got that right for sure.

OK, now lets just hope that this game was one experiment.

Not had the chance to read the thread in its entirety, but can imagine the way it's gone. Those expressing concern are dismissed as hyperbolic idiots, those saying everything is alright ridiculed as happy clappers.

The truth, as always, is somewhere in between.

I always believe you should never read too much into pre-season friendlies; good results don't always suggest a good season, nor do bad results necessarily hint at wider problems. They are ultimately fitness exercises, and the result is often immaterial.

However, there is a bit of concern over the way we're shipping goals at present. Much has been made of Pellegrini's attacking approach, but the high line and pressing we've employed pre-season haven't been a resounding success, it's fair to say. Both Arsenal and Milan before them have cut through our back line with alarming ease at times.

From an attacking point of view, I thought we looked reasonably threatening today. We dominated possession and created chances but the sharpness wasn't there. Both Negredo and Dzeko (as is often the case) seemed to possess a heavy touch, and the final ball was frequently lacking.

Still, I remain positive about the season ahead. It was always going to take time to implement a new style of play, and Pellegrini is an astute manager. I'm sure the defensive lapses will be addressed; expect a senior centre half arriving before the window closes.

A very thoughtful and insightful posting Ric and I agree with you about being concerned about the goals going in. My main concern however tonight was Vincent Kompany's interview on the OS. 'The team are tired, ............they've had a busy week.' I am sorry but I cannot accept that sort of an excuse from our Captain. If they are tired after 2 matches and an appearance at the City live thing the other night how are they going to cope with a full season with Cup matches, League matches and Champions League matches?

You know, better than most on here Ric, that VK is my hero but toward the end of last season, after the debacle of the FA Cup, he made the same excuse and I don't think it is good enough. These players are paid to be professionals and if they can't be professional and look at their performance in a professional manner and say 'We are sorry, we made a hash of that but we will improve' then why are they turning out? I never thought I would see the day when I was so disappointed in Vincent Kompany.

My half full glass is rapidly emptying!! Not because I don't think we will do well this season, I am sure that this is a wake up call, but because I cannot accept those sort of excuses. I make no comment about the match itself or how we played because I didn't see any of it, just commenting on VK's excuses. Just my humble opinion.

Onwards and upwards with Manchester City. The Boys in Blue never (used to) give in.
