City v Boro post match

Flapper central in here today, typical Bluemoon when we don't win.

We were brilliant today, just missing that finishing touch to kill the game off but shit happens sometimes throughout a season. The passing and movement was unbelievable at times, the way we're playing is an absolute pleasure to watch.
Shit is happening game after game,i'm patiently waiting for the when we click moment i keep reading about

You do realise Tevez is 33 now. How exactly would you utilise this veteran in peps team? Take your time flower, I'm all ears.
Flower? Pffft get you!

Tevez of old was more what I was thinking but I'm pretty sure he still wouldn't be found wanting for his tenacity and eye for goal.

He could and should have brought Vinny on instead of Kelechi.

Possibly but what guarantee does it bring if he does?

None as well you know and its easy playing the game after on here and claiming things impossible to prove mate.

180 seconds away from a well deserved 3 points but for yet another individual mistake.

Would love to see Angelino given a shot soon in games like this as Clichy is just a waste of space

Pissed off as i may be, I am trying to be positive and think that these games at least give Pep more information about what our deficiencies are and what needs to be done. If we can stay near the top of the table whilst still learning, we should be in great shape towards the end of the season.
I'll tell you what our deficiency is - mental weakness. There are too many players in our team that switch off or shrug their shoulders and give up when things get a bit tough. I've said this before and it showed again today. The worst culprits in my view are two of our finest ever players - Silva & Aguero - and I fear both will be in danger of going this summer if they don't toughen up. Neither are much less talented than players like Messi or Suarez but neither has that will to win that marks those two out. Players like Tevez, Keane, Vieira, even Andy Morrison, who took games and their teams by the scruff of the neck. Silva in particular is a complete powder-puff of a player - great when he's got time and space but fuck all use when he needs to dig a bit deeper.

When I look at the great sides in my lifetime, the 60's team and that of the late '70's, I see players like Book, Doyle, Pardoe, Oakes, Summerbee, Bell, Lee, Tueart, Hartford, Watson, Kidd, Royle, Donachie. There were enough players to carry the one or two, like Peter Barnes & Neil Young, who may have been a bit more mentally fragile. Today we maybe had 3 or 4 who had that mental toughness - the desire and will to win, the strength not to make mistakes and to take responsibility when things get a bit tough. I just don't see enough of those players in my team and that's Pep's biggest problem.

I said at the time why is he taking navas off,we needed to close the game out with a few mins left,he was keeping that side quiet and the ball would probably have not even got to the guy who crossed it,pep got that wrong

Final thought for thee night.....Karanka makes Mourinho and his approach to games look like Keegan!

Fair enough it works for him but fuck me, anti football isnt the word.

You are not wrong. Dreadful. I am personally getting sick of this tactic. Boring as hell as a sporting spectacle. I am actually looking forward to Arsenal coming to town
