City v Boro post match

This draw completely ruined my weekend

Cannot keep dropping points like this at home, especially against bottom table opposition
I agree completely, it was sickening when the equaliser went in.

We huffed and puffed all afternoon without looking cohesive.

No height up front makes it easier for the opposition to stick a wall of players on the edge of their own box and our inability to actually shoot just helps them further.

Those misses by Aguero and De Bruyne just before they scored came back to haunt us.

We can not defend so Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal will have a field day.

I think we should start planing for an FA Cup run as the league will be beyond us and the Chumps League will be a suck it and see competition.

Terrible result the last 3 games at home dropping 6 points we dont deserve to win anything. Pep needs to sort out his defence and defending in general. We dont have a player to get us over the line and defend and see out the games. 1 chance they scored from on any other day we would of trashed Boro but yesterday was dropped points. Our away form is going to be key we can play any team away from home and give them a good game. 4 wins and 1 defeat says it all the more we win away from home the better while we are struggling at home for wins.

That's part of it, but I reckon Kompany's height and urgency would have helped at the back.

All the top teams will lose goals like that, but we have a habit of giving teams two or three chances quite cheaply. Our defending could be a lot better. We play good football, but at the moment we don't look good enough to win the league.

Not being argumentative but who does Vinny come on for? Stones didnt put a foot wrong and neither did AK. He certainly doesn't come on for Clichy so im not sure why folk think he makes the difference and stops that goal yesterday?

It was yet again an individual error from a player who imo wont be part of the side this time next year because we will certainly buy new full backs in the summer.

They were only league champions two seasons ago and still have a very good team. Shows how low Jose took them last year fingers crossed he does it with United this year.

Think the champions league is suited more to how we want to play, if we can get to the semis and give a better account of what we did in Madrid I will be happy.
hazard makes that team. Shearer said Aguero is the only World Class player in the Premiership but Hazard has won the league before for Chelsea and he could do it again. If you set the team up right, and give him freedom, he is unplayable.

For Clichy and re-organised the team.

I know Clichy gets panned for their goal but just watch how Kolorov loses his man . Two Boro players had a chance. Not a fan of Clichy but feel he was hung out to dry by the collective errors elsewhere in the build up.

Show me a side in world football that isnt susceptible to a set piece/cross Marv.

You cant because one doesn't exist and never will.

He brings Kompany on and he either pushes into midfield or replaces a CB. The goal came from Clichy not doing his job and the addition of Vinny would have changed nothing.
Kolorov could have gone to left back for height

Only thing I would have liked to see different in the team selection yesterday was that I think it would have been a great opportunity to try and develop more the playing relationship between kun and kelechi and play 2 strikers.

Boro were never going to have much of the ball and we obviously need as much help as possible hitting the net from our 300 shots per game.

The magnificent effort we put in to overcome Barcelona, the desire and will to win. Every player at 100% , that was not a normal game. We probably put in the same amount of effort in that match as we would do in 3 or 4 Premier league games.
To recover from such a game, to return to the reality of playing teams such as Middles-bore-oh ,( for whom this would be like a cup final), to change the mentality from fantasy football to pragmatism would have been difficult for Pep and we came so close to getting the 3 points notwithstanding.
Basically we needed more recovery time.
Perhaps, if International 'breaks' immediately followed Champions league matches, then we would have more time to adjust.
Today we were largely untroubled but just couldn't find the killer goal and the substitutions near the end were head scratchers - no need to change a winning team - as they say.
At 1-0 , to bring on Garcia was wrong, 2-0 would have been ok to give him a few minutes game time.
Navas should have stayed on and Sane should perhaps have come on at around the 70 minute mark to give a tired David Silva a well deserved rest.
Anyway - disappointed yes , of course, but
it is far from the end of the world and for all the doom and gloomers, get a grip ffs.
City till I die and beyond!
