City v Bournemouth post match

Lol. I honestly don't understand what you are talking about. WE haven't looked good in all these 3 games we played. If you think otherwise, thats just your opinion. Is there any rule in bluemoon that you always have to be positive about anything no matter what? If there is, please direct me that way.

We certainly haven't hit the ground running. An own goal against Brighton, a gasper against the Toffees and today a goal that should also count at the start of the next game it was so late! Seven points, yes, but despite the hefty possession stats none of the games has been 70 or 80 mins of the opposition chasing shadows and 'comfortable' wins.

My thoughts.....

1. Thank fuck we got the late winner, big 3 points.
2. Mike Dean is a cûnt, disgraceful performance.
3. Pep needs to get his act together, it was a pretty woeful display considering the talent we had available - subs far too late, pathetic only giving Leroy 10 mins.
4. Sterling was utterly woeful, yes he got the goal, but I'd have struggled to give him 1/10 he was that bad, he NEVER plays well on the left so Pep shouldn't be picking him there, especially when he has Leroy available.
5. Thought Mendy did well for his debut, we obviously didn't intend him playing before the international break, so he's short on fitness, but boy those crosses are fantastic.
6. Pathetic that Ake didn't see red, and then Cook's challenge on Jesus was a disgrace, should have been a straight red, laughable we didn't even get a free kick.
7. Dinho not good, legs have gone and nearly cost us twice with dallying on the ball, would much prefer to see Yaya in there.
8. Sergio needs to put his dummy back in, he will get plenty of chances.

Agree with most of this except thought Dean handled the game quite well. He made sure he wasn't falling for "Bormuff's" awful time wasting and as for the Cook challenge if Jesus hadn't of jumped he'd be walking on crutches now..awful challenge. Sterling was terrible, reminds me much of SWP in his latter days running into no mans land, his ball control is very poor, grateful he was involved with the winner but boy makes you wonder what the hell has happened to him since leaving candlepool.

Exactly my point.

Did I say anywhere that it is a bad start? No I didn't. Chelsea started badly last year but they massively improved after that. Otherwise they wouldn't have won the league. I am saying the same. IF we don't improve, we are not going to win the league. We are not going to win each and every game like this. We could have easily drawn today and the tone of most of the people would have been completely different. Does that make sense?
And the point you missed was that even after Chelsea improved, they had some games which they won without playing remotely well. As every team that's ever won the league has managed. The whole "mark of champions winning without being at your best" and the best bit is, we didn't even play badly today.

Agreed, glad Sterling got the red, couldn't bare watching him vs the Dippers...

The stats on the game will be in our favour but they don't paint the picture with regard how the game actually was on this occasion. Bournemouth were unlucky and we got out of jail. In terms of real goal threats we were very even from what I saw.

I'm over the moon that we won so I don't mean to be negative. It was a close game and we can play far better than that. It wasn't a game where had we drawn I'd be reeling off the chances we had to my rag pals tonight. Id be ripping the referee as an excuse as to why we didn't win. I don't agree that we battered them SWP.
New players need time to bed in and we have a lot Lads adjusting to the prem but once they do fuck me we will be unstoppable.

That was my whole point. I was just replying to SWP because he seemed to be criticizing anyone who had a different view to him. I normally don't chat shit if you go through my post history. But if I feel that City can improve, I will say no matter what.
We could have quite easily have drawn that game and it would have been incredibly frustrating. We need to improve our chance creation. If those are your points, I don't see how anyone can argue with that

TBF to Sterling he never plays well on the left. He should either start right or central. For long periods today it was like playing with 10 men, thankfully Pep knew he's score the winner ;)
